LACK/LOSS OF MOTIVATION. All of us have been there. I’m not talking about not feeling like going to work out on a Monday, or wanting to skip a Saturday morning workout. I’m talking about a funk, a slump, an extended time period. Chances are we’ve all faced this to some extent, whether a week or a month, or heck, even a year! Sometimes the reasons are obvious - you have something else you would rather be doing, you don’t have the time, you’re exhausted. Sometimes it’s the holidays, a fabulous extended vacation, or a life change (moving, new job, new baby, etc.). But sometimes you can’t figure out why you’ve lost motivation. Regardless of what caused it, it can be really hard to find that motivation again. Even if you want it. Part of the solution is discipline - going to work out even when you don’t feel like it, not turning into that McDonald’s, not hitting up the vending machine when you get bored at work. But don’t you want to find your inspiration? I’ve struggled with this before. I’m struggling with it now! But one thing I know is I won’t “let go” and succumb to my unmotivated feelings, and neither should you! I will keep working out, I will find new healthy options and new workouts to snap myself out of the routine that I think has started to become a little boring for me. Sometimes I think that’s all we really need - to change up our routine and try something new. And we should never forget why we started and how far we’ve come, and that wonderful, healthy feeling it’s given us. If anything, keep going for your future self, and those who are looking to YOU for inspiration!
Who all has had some struggles with motivation recently? Were you able to overcome them, and how so? What’s your inspiration and motivation?
