Woke up extremely tired, took my dad to the airport early this morning, then came home, fell asleep, and woke up at 1230! 😂 Feelin’ a lot better now & my hamstrings are demolished from yesterday’s workout, video up soon! 😏 Rest day it is! It’s crazy to look back 5-6 months from now and the fact that I used to feel guilty taking rest days, even one per week for recovery purposes. 🤦🏽♀️ Forever grateful for this journey - constantly finding a balance that works for me, adapting to the changes in my life, and enjoying the process. ✨

growing my hamstrings have been a little tricky since starting my fitness journey, i’m very quad dominant (not that i don’t mind). but over the last couple months i have been testing out a variety of exercises to hit my hammies hard and they are working! the definition is peeping through! it really is about trial and error and seeing what works best for you. & remembering to be patient with your progress! this is my workout from today, i hope you find this helpful!
⚠️the workout⚠️ Good Mornings [3 x 10]: the aim for this exercise is to hinge forward at the hips whilst pushing your bottom back until you feel the stretch in your hamstrings. aim to keep the heels of your feet as pushed into the floor as possible, if your toes start to curl up, don’t worry about that too much.
Dynamic Lateral Lunges [3 x 12]: this will work mainly on your inner thigh, however, whilst shifting your weight from one leg to the next, you’re still putting a stretch/load through your hamstrings. if performed correctly, the constant tension will also hit your glutes too! mine were twitching AF!
T-Bones [3 x 8] – each leg: aim to keep your leg and torso parallel when leaning over. that way you are only putting the load through your static leg (into your hammies) and not through your lower back.
Elevated Lateral Lunges [3 x 10]: aim to keep your elevated leg as straight as possible when sitting your bottom back and drive back up through the heel of your planted foot. this exercise will hit your hamstrings, glutes, quads andddd adductor muscles (inner thigh). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
