The journey to executing the #FrontLever all starts with the #Pullup . Starting from the Pull-up position will make it much easier to get into the Tuck Front Lever. This movement opens the door to either holding the Tuck Front Lever or going back and forth from the top of the Pull-up position to Tuck FL and back. If you're more advanced, use this movement to reinforce your Front Lever by executing this towards the end of your training!!! • What a day yesterday! Beat off the jet lag, and some really tough competition to take the MW class win at Arizona’s Strongest Man 🥇🏆 • Only got a few videos, but check out the @alphaomegastrengthstrongman Facebook page for some of the livestream vids if you’re interested 🤛 • Run through of the day.... • Event 1 - 260lb/118kg Log FTOH - 6 reps - 1st place - scrappy run, lost balance a lot due to underestimating the difference being outside with sun in my eyes! • Event 2 - 60ft Farmers 280lb/127kg - 10.56seconds - 1st place - bit of a wobble mid run but happy with this • Event 3 - car deadlift - 5 reps - 3rd place - someone said 622lb/282kg in the hands, someone said close to 800lb/363kg - no idea but it was the heaviest I’ve ever pulled, high pick up bit my erectors were cramping all day after that! • Event 4 - bag over bar - 1st place - needed to get the 3rd bag (55lb/25kg) to secure the win - I think I’d done the first two quick enough but needed to be sure - hitting and dropping the bar helped me out though 🙄 • Event 5 - Atlas Stone to platform 320lb/145kg - 1 rep - 2nd place - I actually had a bit of a nightmare on this - my tacky wasn’t used to the warm weather and the Stone of steel. It literally just slipped completely off me and turned to slime on the steel stone. The reason why so many of us fail..... There are a number of reasons why many of us fail at a training program or nutrition plan. One reason is that we set unrealistic targets. Expectation levels are set too high or too low. If they are set to low then you are not going to value the outcome, therefore you are unlikely to put the time, effort and commitment into attaining the outcome. Another reason and the one I want to talk about is that you underestimate the time, energy and effort necessary to achieve a goal. Social media and some coaches to an extent promote this idea that to achieve a certain look or goal is easy and takes minimal time, energy and effort. You sign up to the program only to discover that you have underestimated EVERYTHING required to get to the end result. Your mind then starts telling you to quit. Infant you have ‘quit’ in your voice, your posture even your face. Everything about you is saying to quit as it is too hard. You do eventually quit and this further spirals into more negative feelings and thoughts. Does this sound familiar? When you underestimate what is required and never see anything through, you never develop the the persistence required to get your mission accomplished. Setting your sights on something that is attainable and not looking for the easy option is going to be your path to success. Remember, if it was easy we would all be doing it. I learned this the hard way. I remember being that person who had a really high imaginary wall. . I thought if I kept people at a distance than they couldn't hurt me or at least if they did they wouldn't break me. . Boy was I wrong! What this did was detach me from myself and made connecting with others nearly impossible. . When I felt like I couldn't connect with my friends or my spouse I would quickly blame them. . It had to be them because, "they just don't get me, they don't know what I need and it was their fault I felt distant from them." 🤷🏻‍♀️. . This was so bad that 4 months into dating my husband I pulled him aside and said, "can we just be fun friends because I set my emotional need bar super low and you can't even meet that." 🤦🏻‍♀️. . I felt so strong in my feelings that in that moment because my wall for allowing him in was so high that any chance that he could "hurt my feelings" I would immediately detach and want to cut him off. . Naturally, many of us go into self protect mode. When we have been hurt so bad that we felt like we lost ourselves in the process. . However, walls do exactly what they are meant to do.... KEEP PEOPLE OUT! When you keep those you love OUT you walk yourself into lonely land. . I encourage you to feel your feelings, embrace vulnerability and transparency because the best gift you can give yourself and others is to fully connect to them. . Hearts can repair! Love can be rebuilt but walls can only come down when you decide to be FREE! #Ladyleaderlifestyle - #regrann
