•Use a band to where you feel the RESISTANCE
•Put the weight at the hip area •Start LOW then go HEAVY
• I used the poles to stabilize my form when lifting heavier
((4 sets of 12 reps)))
I went from 10lbs to 25lbs. Everyone weight levels vary to where you are, but it’s still effective with proper resistance and form.
My❤️heart is so full. Blessed🙏🏼to be asked to teach💃🏻Zumba and share nutrition tips to my local 2nd and 3rd grade Girl Scout troop. Not sure who has more fun, the kids or me?!😂

I think one of the most important things to remember is that no one is perfect. I’ve strayed and fallen off course but I always come back to this program, as it is more a way of life now. It’s what works for me, and I’d love to help you see if it could work for you too. ♥️
When I first started out as trainer there were a few people that were very skeptical that I was “qualified” for the job. 🤷🏼♀️
And that’s okay. It’s hard to believe that someone who is overweight can be qualified to show others how to work out, lose weight or get in better shape. When picking a trainer to follow && help guide you to where you want to be; don’t just look at their current size. 👌🏼 Look at their story. Where they have come from and where they are willing to go with you! Are they walking the walk with you? Or are they hanging back and just telling you what to do?
There is a HUGE difference! 🙏🏼🤯 my motto has always been; I will never ask you to do anything I can not do myself! And I will never let you do it alone! 🙌🏼🔥
Today I had a member who has never attended a class with me, but has observed my classes, jump in class today just to say, “stick with her to all you new faces! She is the best! I have seen such a difference in everyone she works with in as little as a couple weeks!” 😭😍 talk about a confidence booster! I love watching my members transform right before my eyes, and hearing that other members notice it just as much as I do, proves to me that I’m doing what I need to do! That is the ultimate reward! 😁

We went to Houston this past weekend so that I could attend a #BodyPump
Advanced Instructor Module Level 2 (AIM 2) because #GymLife
and the kids enjoyed some yummy food!
We loved that we found awesome restaurants that gave me lots of energy, were easy with the kids, and provided us options all around! I’ll have a few separate posts on the next day or two showing a few spots we all enjoyed #KidFriendly
On the way home from Day 1 of training (Saturday night), I took up the advice of my friend and ordered @guruburger. #Yummy
The parking was super easy—a 5-minute spot in the nearby lot. My enormous bag of carryout was already waiting for me at the bar when I walked in (maybe I should not have ordered right after I got off an all-day gym training 🤣)! It was ready in the time that I drove from downtown #Houston
, about 25-minutes.
Once I got back to our nearby hotel, the kids and hubby were waiting anxiously for the food! We quickly opened all the containers (#ecosafe
! ) and plated bits and pieces of a plain burger, plain hot dog, fries, edamame and bread for the kids. (See two plates pics).
Next, hubby and I shared an order of Parmesan #sweetpotatofries
, and two burger halves—the “Captain Planet” blackbean veggie burger (wooooww, I think hubby is annoyed I’m still talking about this one) and a Japaniero burger with chimichurri sauce! Also, an order of ginger salad that had these amazing dried or baked veggies—maybe beets??? Yummmmmm
Thanks Guru for filling all our bellies and giving me lots of crazy energy for Day 2 of Advanced training!

INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT! Meet Katie! Have you taken her yoga class yet? She has been teaching for 3 years- beginning her yoga journey as a student who just wanted to relieve stress and then falling in love with the practice and wanting to share the love with others! Katie absolutely loves hot yoga- the hotter the better! But don’t let this fit girl fool you- she’s known to chow down on all the good stuff- French fries, avocado toast and tacos al pastor. (I’m thinking we need a Studio 8 🌮 night- anyone else in?!) Her favorite quote is by none other than the infamous Yoda- “Do or do not, there is no try.” A song she can’t get enough of at the moment is “Say Something” by Justin Timberlake. Katie is looking forward to becoming a Boogie Bounce instructor soon! You can take Katie’s yoga class every Thursday night at 6:30 pm!
