When I retired from dance training to head to uni and pursue a career as a lawyer my body quickly deflated and I gained a substantial amount of weight . I was super unconfident and indulged in junk food and alcohol rather than doing something about it. When My first semester at Uni came to an end and I realised that none of my clothes fitted I decided it was time to make a change. . . SWEATY HIIT CIRCUIT YAY! 💪🏼 So many people want to burn fat and build muscle simultaneously which can be a difficult goal to achieve. HOWEVER! HIIT can slot perfectly into your weight lifting regime as it is great for burning fat whilst preserving muscle! (There are so many fun lil HIIT circuits in ma full body guide and the girls doing my guide atm seem to be enjoying them so much yay😆 Link in ma bio incase you’re interested and fancy joining the B.B. fam♥️🙏🏼) - Give it a go and let me know how you get on 😘 1️⃣ jump squat taps 1 min 2️⃣ burpees over step 1 min 3️⃣ squat steps off step, ski jump, squat jump, ski jump 1 min 4️⃣ sit up kicks 1 min 5️⃣ side steps knee twist 1 min 6️⃣ spider leg steps off step 1 min 🔄 3-4 times! - You’ll be dripping by the end promise 😆 ❤ via @livefitelle
MY DAILY RITUALS By @physiotrition . Do you have any daily rituals? . Our daily rituals, routines or habits are ultimately what define us. . Habitual decisions tend to made in the Basal Ganglia, which also plays a key role in the development of emotions, memories and pattern recognition. Compare this to more conscious decision making (problem solving, etc.), which occurs in the Prefontal cortex, this is a lot more taxing from a metabolic standpoint on our brain. . Our Brain likes operating through the path of least resistance. It loves routine. Using routine as a safety net, the brain can actually function as intended to. Think of it this way, imagine how difficult it would be to go about your day, without having the motor pattern of walking embedded in your brain. You wouldn’t get much done crawling through your day would you? . Most people implement physical routines without first taking care of their most important asset; their brain. If you don’t have some form of reflection in your day, I urge you to give it a go. For me, stoicism has completely changed my perception of things, along with gratitude journaling and some reading daily. It can be as simple as thinking to yourself: “How did I act today? What did I do well? Was there anything I could have improved upon?” . These simple questions can give you a completely different perspective on your life and ensure you make better decisions (self-defined to be fair #confirmationbias lol) going forward. . If you haven’t already implemented some form of physical and mental rituals, I highly recommend you do so and if you already have some rituals, let me know what they are below.
