This weather definitely requires comfort food! So I made some homemade spaghetti bolognese with @quorn_uk mince, served with good old spaghetti and torn low fat fresh mozzarella 👌 . #TRANSFORMATIONTUESDAY THE SCALES DO NOT TELL YOU THE WHOLE STORY 🔷 Picture right-I am 8 lbs HEAVIER 🔷Not all weight gain is fat, especially when weight training is the main focus of your training. 🔷For centuries women have been (and many still are )slaves to the scales, desperately hoping it will show a certain number. Thankfully times are changing and knowledge and Education are powerful. _ 🔷I would say I weigh more than the #average 47 year old female of my height, I am currently about 152lbs, and am 5ft 7 in bare feet however my clothes size are considered small.I wear a UK size 8-10 ( US 6-8). 🔷As I fast approach my 48th birthday, I focus even more now on how I feel and look, the scales don't tell me what I need to know. 🔷I don't just train women, I try to educate and motivate women. Our bodies are unique and very special  and need to be treated that way _ 🔷The female body ( in particular) DOES NOT like you to diet, it will fight you every step of the way. It DOES NOT like you to starve it, it will hold onto every bit of fat if you do. Alternate between sitting and standing at your desk and try your best to avoid sitting for longer than 45-60 mins without moving 🤸‍♂ I suggest standing to start of the day! · 2⃣ Perform some light mobility work in the morning when you wake up for extra energy and to loosen up the body before you sit! · 3⃣ Pack a healthy lunch, you need eat nutrient dense healthy food for the body to function optimally and for sustained energy throughout the day. Apples are my favorite 😋 · 4⃣Drink more water and stay hydrated, not only is drinking water good for the body, but it will also make you stand and and take a break from working! · 5⃣ Clean Workspace - ensure your workspace is clean and clutter free to help boost productivity by avoiding distractions. Put your cell phone away when working at your desk 📵❌ · 6⃣ Move Often - walk during your lunch break, workout in the AM beofre work, Take your DBT Desk breaks often 🔑 · 7⃣ Create a TODO List and focus on the task at hand- create a action plan at the beginning of you work day. Prioritize the most important tasks first and focus on one at a time. When you’re trying to tighten your skin while losing weight or after, it’s critical to build up your muscle mass underneath to press up against your skin. . This foundation is going to not only help you burn more calories daily, but also act as the actual firmness for your tone look. . When you lift + cardio, in the right ratio, your body will begin to burn fat and build muscle. Resulting in a tone look. . When you lift + no cardio, you will continue to build muscle, but unless your in a fat loss deficit for calories, you won’t lose body fat. Over time this too will develop a tone look. . When you don’t lift + cardio, your body will burn off body fat, but what tends to happen is we actually burn too many calories and end up sacrificing some muscle, making us look potentially flat or skinny fat. . When you don’t lift and don’t do any cardio, the ability for you body to burn fat and build muscle isn’t in effect. It becomes even more important to have an effective dieting style in place. Under-eating as well can result in a skinny fat body type. . Now, just to reiterate, this protocol is for those looking to tone up and tighten skin. It's amazing just how much you can change in one year. My growth as a person goes way beyond my physique. In the timespan between these pictures I: 🔹 Quit my dead-end job I hated and started a career that I love 🔹 Went from not thinking very highly of myself to being confident in my abilities 🔹 Stopped letting other people's negativity bring me down 🔹 Learned how to manage my anxiety and depression better, and realised its okay to ask for help to get through tough times 🔹 Walked away from a relationship with someone who didn't see my worth and no longer shared the same values, to finding someone who shares my passions, supports my endeavours 100% and treats me like a queen 👑 I also did grow some sick lats and made a few booty gainz too 😉 The next year will bring even bigger changes and opportunities for growth, and I couldn't be more excited 💪
