8 years ago today I miscarried my one and only pregnancy. My Facebook memories reminded me of that. I never really thought about the fact that September is also PCOS Awareness Month.
Every woman that has gone through a miscarriage has their own story. But we all share the same weight carrying on our heart.
For me, my husband and I were trying on our own a year and finally got some help. I got pregnant 3 months later. We were so thrilled! My mother in law bought some baby stuff ( which I still have in the top of my closet) and we were already thinking about how to decorate the baby room!
I lost the baby at 7 weeks. To hear the dr in the ER say "your baby no longer had a heart beat"..my heart stopped..just for a split second..my heart broke.
All we thought about is what did we do wrong. What did I do wrong to lose my child? I had a strenuous and stressful job at the time, so I blamed it on that. My Dr consoled me and told me that it was nothing I did...that sometimes it just happens..and is out of your control.
Fast forward 4 years later I found out I had PCOS. So I went that long without the diagnosis! I had all the symptoms!
Weight gain/difficulty losing weight
Unwanted facial hair
Thinning head hair
Anxiety that turned into anger and depression
Irregular periods (I had like 3 a year)
Inability to ovulate
And the inability to get pregnant
The only thing missing was for a dr to say hey..let's get an ultrasound of your ovaries and bam..polycystic ovarian syndrome.
After I finally could put a label on it, I kicked my ass into high gear. I lost 50 pounds in a year and I am currently maintaining. When I lost weight my periods came back!!! Normal!!
So we started seeing the specialist again.
Had to take estrogen because my testosterone was still high. I had to take progesterone because my uterine lining was too thin. I had to take pills because I didn't have enough eggs. I had to give myself shots in the stomach to make me ovulate because I still couldn't do it on my own. I had to give myself shots in the stomach to help grow my eggs because they were too small.

➡️Top left- Arms were sore 💪and couldn't take any weight. But guess what? Your arms have weight to them! ➡️Bottom left- I have dogs.🐕🐕🐕 They get in my way during every workout. My girl thinks its playtime!
➡️Right- Here's my girl again...getting kicked in the face because she gets too close to momma.🤣 I slowed the video down a bit!
Plus I have a sleeping college student👨🏫 (my younger brother) on the couch behind me (knocked out) and a husband standing in the kitchen watching👀 me, not wanting to step in front of my video.
Point is..no matter what your circumstances
❤Not in the best shape and can't use any weight during a particular move.
❤Have kids or dogs and get interrupted during a workout.
❤Have people in your home watching you or trying to nap between school and work.

Our street hosts a festival every year. In here, the booths haven’t opened yet. I remember when it started some 10 years ago, still small, a band played for 1 hour and there were some booths. Holiday Weekend! Who else is excited?? 😄😄 Mine started with an impromptu date night ....shots from an old friend🥃....and well, the rest is history!🤣 Rainy Saturday morning with strong coffee..just what I needed☕🤗 Yes, my weekend will be enjoyed, but lots of healthy habits still included. If you are that person saying "I'll get back on track after the weekend ( you know who you are😬!!...I've been there👋) try implementing a few key habits over the next few days. You will feel much better waking up on Tuesday! It doesnt have to be an all-or- nothing weekend😉...
- drink lots of WATER! ( try to hit atleast half your body weight in ounces) - EXERCISE! get in atleast 10-15 minutes daily. Go for a walk, jog, swim....or try one of my at-home workouts posted..they are quick, but effective 👍
- PROTEIN- try to eat protein with every meal and snack. This will keep you satisfied, less cravings and less snacking🙌
-MINDSET - be grateful and use positive affirmations...You are strong, you are Enough💗💗 Have a healthy,happy Weekend💕
People will always talk behind your back, be it the good stuffs or the bad stuffs.. friends or friendnemies.. the people who look up to you and the one's who don't, the best part about growing up is you learn to love yourself more and more each day and you know your worth. Learn to appreciate, be grateful and thankful for second chances that you get to correct the mistakes in the past. We don't get second chances because of luck, but because we're so blessed by God. My sincere apologies to the one's I've hurt, we're all human🤗 but try changing all the negativity to positivity and watch your life change.

Walking to my happy hour... Not going to lie, it is hard to get up at 4:30am, a lot of days I just want to stay in bed but there is something about getting it done early, my days are more productive, my mind is so much clearer, my energy is up, and I love coming back home after a long day to just relax and spend time with my family.
My tips: have your workout clothes ready (a cute outfit always helps), don't snooze it, do not grab your phone until you are changed and ready to go, get some water on your face, set goals that make you excited, and always know that it is about progress not perfection.
If I can do it you can do it too!

I used to say ALL THE TIME: “I don’t have time to workout!”
I convinced myself I was too busy, that working out couldn’t be a priority for me because I had to many other important things to do.
A few months ago I decided enough was enough. I was tired of my excuses and I was going to MAKE time to workout. I decided to RETHINK my priorities.
Now, I’m busier than ever. I’m a grad student trying to get a masters in one year, which means planning, researching, writing, and defending a thesis by the end of May!!!
BUT, my mindset is completely different. I know that I won’t feel my best physically OR mentally if I don’t commit to my health and fitness.

One of my favorite quotes. I get asked a lot to borrow my “willpower.” I just woke up one day and my desire to change was finally greater than my desire to remain the same.
Motivation is definitely temporary and comes and goes. Today I had zero. I went to the gym to lift and was NOT feeling it. I managed to get in 30 minutes and then left. I did walk 2 miles on the treadmill later on because I try to hit my 10K steps every day. Some days I feel like cardio - some days I feel like lifting.
