When I started working out back in 2012, I wasn’t entirely sure what I was doing. Birthdays call for special treats! But it also gives me an opportunity to be accountable - to myself and to my ladies in my challenge group. . . *****However***** this is an EASY choice for me because no one makes gluten free donuts, so I couldn’t eat Krispy Kreme anyway. But I also want to show that I’m still here celebrating, and that *even if* you eat a donut, the world won’t end. One donut is not the problem. It’s when you go back for the other 11 that is the problem. . . . My relationship with food has changed DRASTICALLY over the last year. And now I know that a treat is not the end of my diet because I don’t diet. I live a healthy lifestyle, and I take care of my body. No guilt. No frustration. I did a little bit of landing work this weekend. My 5 tips for waking up early to hit the gym: • 1. Go to bed at the same time each night. Even if you’re only halfway through an episode of your favorite show, turn off the TV, put your phone down, and go to bed. • 2. Get everything ready the night before. Pack your gym bag, get your protein powder in its shaker bottle, and lay out your gym clothes. Make getting out the door as efficient as possible. • 3. Institute a no snooze button rule. Enough with the snooze button roulette! “Will he or won’t he get out of bed this time?” Remove all doubt and get your butt out of bed when the alarm goes off. • 4. Chug some cold brew coffee. Forget the pre-workouts and other chemical-laden tricks to wake up. Go the natural route by knocking back a full mug of the chilled black stuff before you head out the door. • 5. Think about how good it feels to be done with your workout and still have the entire day to do what you need or want to do. I manage to wake up early even after only 4 hours of sleep (on most days) to get my workout in...why? Because I know my mindset. If I put it off till late afternoon or night. I WONT DO IT!!! . I manage to workout with 27 extra pounds weighing me down and sometimes my daughter crawling around at my feet...why? Because I know I’m a better person, mom, have more energy on a daily basis when I stay active. . I manage to workout at 32 weeks 5 days...why? Because I’m focusing on a super healthy pregnancy, safe delivery, and easier recovery. . I manage to eat healthy 80 percent of the time...why? Cause I know what unhealthy feels like and I’m not a huge fan. . I manage to cut 98 percent of the excuses of why I CANT out of my life...why? Cause at one point in my life I got sick and tired of being sick and tired of feeling like ish all the days of my life. . Stop making excuses, stop saying it’s not affordable, stop saying tomorrow or Monday...Start saying YES! Do me a favor and jot down all your excuses today, then jot down all the reasons your life would be better if 1. You felt better about yourself 2. If you lived a healthy balanced life 3.
