Starting off the week right with some baked toast! 🍞 A lot of you always ask me: why do you bake it? I know it seems weird, baking your toast when you can just throw some bread in the toaster. But I promise you it really elevates the toast to a whole other level. If you think about a pizza you pile all these toppings on then bake it in the oven. What happens to the pizza? All the flavors melt in the oven, combining everything perfectly together. So if that happens with pizza, why not do the same then with toast! I know not everyone has access to an oven, but if you have a toaster oven it’ll turn out just fine! I topped these toasts with a good ol sweet and savory combo. The sweet I went with my version of an ab & j. Then savory a little more fancy with mashed avocado and sautéed mushrooms. I have been on such a mushroom kick lately, I mean who doesn’t love a good shroom! 🍄 I know it sounds odd, but I promise guys you gotta try baked toast! 😋
Here’s how to make the best baked toast:
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 400 F
2️⃣ Take your slices of bread. For savory mash some avocado and for sweet spread some creamy almond butter.
3️⃣ Parchment line a baking sheet and lightly spray with @chosenfoods
4️⃣ Place in oven and bake at 400 F for 10 minutes. Then broil for 2 minutes.
5️⃣ Once done, remove from oven. Top the sweet with homemade raspberry chia jam, @purely_elizabeth
granola, and hemp seeds. The savory with sautéed mushrooms, sriracha, everything but the bagel seasoning, mushroom & co, and micro greens
