I’ve got to hold my hands up because I’m feeling a bit of a fraud 🤷🏻♀️
The reason I’m feeling like this is I promote self-care, and I’m also the first person to tell anyone that they need to look after their own self before looking after anyone else. BUT when it comes to taking my own advice, I’m a bit 💩at it really 🤷🏻♀️
I spoke with a client yesterday and we discussed how it’s always easier to dish out good advice but not so easy to take it. My training has suffered since upping the ante with personal training others, and although I believed it was the right ‘sacrifice’ to make, it’s actually just reinforced how much I need exercise. I know some people might think that sounds a bit extreme but I really think I do. I’m more energised, sleep better, eat more consciously and feel happier.
So here’s to taking back some time for myself. Just like everyone needs to every once in a while. And I’m posting this here to hold myself accountable. Ain’t that what here’s useful for 💃🏻

We only had a couple of hours to spend in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat and I didn’t want to miss out on the 6km trail path that follows the coast round the peninsula. So, we decided to run it 😬 and my god, was it worth it. We even found a rocky that we had to ourselves, meaning we had the most glorious post-run dip 😍

tonight - definition starting to show on the back and triceps after 8 PT sessions
For every flattering photo someone posts on Instagram I guarantee you there will be twice as many outtakes on their camera roll that wouldn’t make it to the feed because they look ‘bad’ or it’s not their best angle.
Swipe for exhibit A of a photo which I felt I couldn’t post because I was insecure over how my body looked. Now I am not saying there is anything wrong with how I look in the second photo, yet to me compared to the first it showed a less flattering perspective. It is quite a considerable difference, in the first the lightening exaggerates the definition of my stomach muscles and the way I am standing makes my waist look like it goes in more than it does if I was to simply stand straight. These photos are taken in the same same day even, exactly the same body, so why do we feel the need to only show our best when 90% of the time we don’t walk round looking like that 🙈 The honest truth is body confidence, while I would consider myself ‘in shape’ I am still not in a place where I feel totally comfortable in my own skin to showcase my insecurities or let people not see me at my best. While getting into exercise has allowed me to change my body composition, I still feel conscious my legs look bigger than before and no I do not maintain a low body fat percentage all year round. I wanted to share this to highlight that there is no such thing as perfection and instagram should be treated as a highlight reel. I hope to share more of my ‘bad’ angles but I can admit I do not always have the confidence to do so #instagramvreality #bodyconfidence #highlightreel
Had the pleasure of meeting young Ryan tonight.
First session with him involved a brief overview of the next couple of sessions which all involve testing different elements of his strength and fitness to establish a foundation from which to build upon
Tonight we looked at several mobility assessments and testing his squat and pulling endurance.
He tested pretty well for a man who hasn’t trained much due to injury this past year!
Looking forward to seeing how he progresses over the next while! 📈

I do not run AlphaDestiny’s naturally enhanced, nor will I probably ever run this programme. However, I am keen to take advice from a well-known natural lifter and I support a lot of his ideology behind training. These rackpulls were done about half an inch above the knee, with the purpose of training the traps and upper back. Carry over to the deadlift is minimal if not non existent doing them this high up but that’s not their purpose. I haven’t done them really in forever so no matter what I pulled it was probably going to be a PR but I’m fairly happy with the final number. What’s your favourite trap and upper back exercise that you’ve found works for you? If you’ve ever done any naturally enhanced workouts, what did you make of them? -
