Why YOU don’t have Abs 🤷‍♀️ . It’s shocking how much misleading advice there is in the fitness industry, especially when it comes to “abs” 🤦‍♀️ . Here’s some hard facts as to why you might not be getting the results you want and hopefully steer you in the right direction! . 1. GENETICS 🧬 Although this term is thrown around a lot, the amount of body fat you hold around your abdomen, the shape of your abs and how easy you can get “lean” is down to genetics... no excuses, just means you may have to work a bit harder and remember play to your strengths. 2. BODY FAT % Everyone has abs... whether they’re visible or not comes down to how much fat you have covering them, this does not mean doing loads of ab exercises to “burn the fat”, you CANNOT spot reduce fat...address your diet, create a decent deficit, keep your protein high, add in short intense bouts of cardio, do your resistance training and be patient. As your overall body fat drops, the more likely you are to see your abs. Just remember though, sustaining low enough levels of body fat isn’t maintainable for a lot of people and depends on your current goals/stress levels/priorities so don’t put pressure on yourself to maintain a certain physique year round, do what you can when you can and only if you want to 👍 3. MUSCLE MASS 💪 At the end of the day your abs are still a muscle group, if you’ve lost enough body fat and they still aren’t “defined enough” then chances are you don’t have enough muscle mass or your “rectus abdominis” (6 pack) isn’t developed enough. Spend some time in a growth phase (build some more muscle) all over and include some specific core exercises. (Note I said “core” not just sit ups!) The more muscle you have the more likely your abs will be prominent, meaning they may still show through at a higher body fat level...totally me right now 🙋‍♀️😉☝️ . Self love & self respect. Something I've learnt over time and take / do on a daily is make sure that I do the things I don't want to do. . These are things such as having a shower every night before bed ( I use to skip out on them every now and then ) Brushing my teeth every morning & night. Putting moisturiser on my body, taking care of my physically health & appearance. . By making sure I do the little things everyday, I find overall mentally health picks up ! There are days I don't feel like doing anything. The most important thing at those times is making sure I get up and do them ! Because they make a he'll of a difference in my overall self worth and happiness ! . . There will be days that are doi ng to be shit and alot harder than other days ! But ensuring and making sure you do the little things the overall long run and a few hours - day later you will thank yourself and feel at home and at peace within yourself. . Don't let the bad days / cloud & rainy mental days stop you from achieving and being you ! You are strong! Get up and fight it ! 22/11/16 was the last time I was allowed on the rowing machine. So tonight I struggled, two months off its hard to get back into gym. So I trained shoulders & then threw in 3, rounds of 250m rows and I've only lost around 8secs in my time! Woohoo 💪🏼💪🏼 then I did super set biceps, was bored so decided to stupidly do 60cm box jumps (approx 10months since doing these) & got quickly reminded I'd done rows earlier 😂😂. Vedo gente in palestra allenarsi anche più di 2 ore ! ma riuscite ad avere una giusta intensità di allenamento?? ma soprattutto vi siete mai chiesti cos'è?? l'intensità di allenamento? ECCO COSA SIGNIFICA PER ME... portare il muscolo al massimo stress nel minor tempo possibile, quindi poche serie portate tutte ad esaurimento con poco recupero. Serie intense si eseguono anche con pesi sub massimali con ripetizioni negative, forzate, serie che portano il fisico oltre alle nostre possibilità.
