ALL THE CEDAR! Today was my last opportunity to get the cedar waterproofed before the nights are too cold for this stuff to cure. I cut it pretty close to the wire, but out of my 36 pieces, 28 of them are now waterproofed and that's more than enough to side my entire trailer, including the roof. Happy dance! They are now curing, to be installed over the next few weeks. .
For anyone that is questioning the choice of Thompson's Water Seal - I chose it because it will cure at 4-5°C. That's it. Everything else I wanted won't dry before the weekend, especially with the current low temps in southern Alberta. I know it has mixed (mostly bad) reviews online. But at least if I hate it, I can sand it off and recoat with something better next year when the weather is warmer. I will say that the directions for application specifically say a THIN coat and a lot of people that applied it from the reviews might have applied it too thickly. I noticed my first 5 were not great, because I have a tendency to paint thick. Don't judge me! But once I got the hang of the thickness of the coat, it sent on very well. I coated both sides and it was dry to the touch in about 20 minutes, despite the chilly weather.
Next step: skinning the roof with 1/4" ply and the hurricane hinge!

Just submitted my self-published novel, The Crux: Man's greatest fears will become its only hope, for consideration as either a series or feature... #FingersCrossed #TheCrux
Surgery tmr, he’s not getting the tie-back just the vocal chord removal... it’ll be a wonderful day anxiety and trying to focus in my classes.
My sweet child was a superstar today for the exercise endoscopy.
I haven’t ridden him in two weeks and my mum brought him to the equine hospital today and they told her they wanted to have him ridden.
Luckily I have no classes on Mondays and I could grab all my tack from home and drive the 3hrs to go ride him 🤦🏼♀️
There were two saddle bag things attached to this saddle pad and then the scope tube along his mane and into his left nostril.
Poor guy was a little horrified, but was a super star for 20 mins of ‘intense’ riding. Honestly just a warmup for him and then he got a shower and was put back into his stall with fresh hay.
Hopefully they decide they don’t need to take out his vocal cords 😬
