Real talk! 👉 I’m feeling as bloated as ever, and honestly a little blahhh. It can be SO easy to look at someone else’s transformation on IG and get sucked into the comparison trap. You start thinking “OMGEEE she’s got it all going on and I just CANTTTT.” ⠀
STOP 🛑 the comparison trap! A) It is SO easy for us all to want to put our BEST on social media, but we may not always share the harder times too. B) My journey is not your journey, is not her journey, is not his journey...we can all SUPPORT each other and be on the journey along side each other (in fact, I encourage that! It’s way more fun with a tribe by your side 😉) BUTTT we should not compare our journeys with judgment on ourselves or others. That is just WAY too much negative energy and isn’t helping anyone. ⠀

When did it become fashionable to label the type of eater you are? Or have we been glorifying diets since FOREVER? 〰️
Does the label we give ourselves as eaters make us feel like we belong somewhere and that makes us feel good? 🤦🏻♀️
I have watched countless documentaries on diets and eating, the amount of effort that goes into making claims against one food group over another is MIND BLOWING 🤯 and then comes the glorification of how wonderful their weight loss has been but when you look at ALL aspects it becomes blindingly obvious. 〰️
I cannot imagine how intimidating it must be to decide on what to eat these days? 〰️
I’ve come to the conclusion that when it comes to loosing weight and trying to be “healthy” it seems too obvious. 💁🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Sweets 🍭, chocolates 🍫, baked goods like cakes 🍰 and pies 🥧 and fruit juice 🥤 are BAD FOR YOU! 〰️
But stop blaming carbohydrates (because there are healthy carbohydrates too) on your weight gain. Eating carbs is not the only reason you are gaining weight. If you cannot control your portion sizes then that is another matter altogether. Or if you are gluten intolerant then yes I totally get it but remember to loose weight it comes down to the cold hard truth, are the calories you are putting in to your body in excess or not? 〰️
If they are, regardless of what macro they are, you WILL PICK UP WEIGHT! 〰️
So who cares whether you are paleo, vegan, flexitarian, lactose free - WHATEVER. Do what is right for you but also do not be ignorant around your weight gain.
1. Am I exercising EVERYDAY?
2. Am I drinking enough water?
3. Am I getting enough sleep?
4. Am I binge eating on the things I KNOW are bad for me?
5. Am I over eating? Are my portion sizes too big?
This was our dinner last night, balanced and complete. Both healthy. One meal is vegan and the other not.
My vegan food super high in carbohydrates but there isn’t a single BAD item on my plate, Dillon eats meat but still healthy for him.

Siamo esseri umani, abbiamo tutti dei punti deboli. Non dobbiamo aspirare al corpo perfetto senza nessun dolore, forse solo un robot 🤖 potrebbe sostenere di averlo, ma semplicemente dobbiamo imparare a gestire gli alti e bassi della vita e il loro riflettersi sul nostro corpo 🙌🏻 .
Siamo fatti di emozioni, e le emozioni dalla mente arrivano ai nostri muscoli.
Impariamo a prendercene cura, perché agendo su di essi agiremo anche sulle nostre emozioni 💞

Each open bottle simply contains a note resting on crystals & shells which represents an aspect of my unconscious. These issues/aspects have over the years raised to the surface, been acknowledged, integrated, forgiven & released, no longer impacting me negatively.
The installation of the open bottles was smooth. The weather was clear, calm & light reflected playfully in the tank. The constructed stone towers appeared stable but were also quite fragile. Too much movement in the waters while moving around them put them at risk of falling down.
They each held an open bottle balanced on top. These bottles/issues were at peace in me & could no longer make ripples in my emotional field. Instead they rose out from my emotions (the water) delicately as steady, stable lessons learned from life.
Crystals are thought to be great allies in our healing process. They can aid & assist us, merging energy with ours, bringing unconscious issues to the fore for processing. They are a modality I often use working with private clients, so its no accident that they should be part of the work. All the crystals used in this exhibit are part of the collection of stones I use while working with clients.

Hiking is definitely my "go to" cardio WHEN I have the time.. other than my new found love for Cycling. 😅 As far as hiking though (especially in SoCal), its hard to beat! Its a great low intensity cardio, fresh air, natural Vitamin D, and it sure beats cardio in the gym, am I right? The scenery is everything in my opinion 🤓
Cardio doesnt have to be something you dread to get done. Whatever it is, make it fun! .. bring your mom LOL

Do you know how long it takes to develop a habit?
Older research said 21 days. But newer research is saying it takes an average of 66 days to create a habit.
What the what?!? In a world where we want immediate gratification and quick fixes this is tough to swallow. Especially when most people give up by week 2. •
So what do we do about this when we have goals we struggle to meet?
Dig deeper and find the grit needed to stick it out longer. Take a good long look at WHY we give up on ourselves. •
So here are my top 3 tips to make something a habit: ~Start Small...like painfully small
Take your big goal and break in to small bite size pieces.
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
Make it easy enough you don’t need to muster tons of motivation to do it. So if you want to be able to do 50 push-ups, start with doing 5 pushups each day and build up. ~Acknowledge slip ups. We all slip up and make mistakes. It’s part of it. Take it for what it is and make a plan and get back at it. Don’t use them as an excuse to give up completely. ~Tracking and accountability (maybe that’s 2 tips in 1 but I’m a rebel like that)
Write your goal down somewhere you see it everyday (personal accountability) and track your progress. Because we want progress not perfection. And tell people your goal that are positive supports that will call you out on your sh*t. Joining an accountability group has been the best thing I could do for myself to reach my goals. •

Thanks to beautiful Bel yesterday for letting me join her training session 😍 I straight up knew my energy levels wouldn’t carry me through a workout on my own yesterday so to stay accountable, I asked if I could jump in her workout. I love training in group environments because the atmosphere is infectious, it’s more social, it distracts me when the workout gets tough and it’s nice to have someone push you through! This girl did all of the above and I finished the session on a high and did the workout with a lot more enthusiasm than if I had tackled it on my own 😅
If you have trouble with self-motivation, try to find someone who will join you so it doesn’t feel like you’re going through it alone! That is what I love about the CrossFit community but obviously you can grab a friend/group for anything - hike up a mountain together, sign up for Spin classes together, commit to doing a competition together… whatever floats your boat. Having people around to be accountable to has played a huge part with my consistency. Thank you Bel for the company yesterday 😍

Last weekend I was with this amazing crew of ladies. This weekend it’s a Mom and son weekend. I used to think I had to have one or the other— not both.
I love spending time with my kids! I am the one in our house that is home the most. I have a husband who travels and works long hours so a lot of the home stuff falls on my plate.
One of the reasons I opened an online fitness business was because I needed something for me. I wanted something that had greater purpose than my home. I wanted a way to connect with positive people. I wanted the means and a reason to travel, or have a job for me that could also weave into my schedule.
So I realized I didn’t have to do one or the other- stay at home OR go get an office job. There’s something that I could do that gives me both— and it’s something I am passionate about. So yes I work from my phone or computer when it works for me in my day. My family is my priority. But I also love plugging into my community and having something for me!
So as I work a little over the weekend with my boys here with me, I will hold last weekend in my memory book and look forward to when I can be with these amazing people again.
Sometimes you don’t have to choose. You can find something that lines up your priorities and keeps you happy and fulfilled.

Morganne and I got off to a rocky start. I got off my first call with her and instantly judged her and the interaction we had. In fact, I told another individual “she wasn’t my people”. But I’m so glad that didn’t stop me.
Instead of writing her off, I approached our friendship with a vengeance. I wanted to know WHY she was the way she was on that first call. Instead of taking it personally, I dug in.
While I won’t share her story of WHY that day was so bad, I later found out she had just had a family confrontation moments before our call. She was rattled. She was checked out. She was on a call and it’s the absolute LAST place she wanted to be.
It’s been almost exactly a year since that time. M & I have become friends, business partners, confidants, and so much more. I’ve learned so much since meeting her. But most of all, I’ve learned to ask and engage more than ever! I used to run from digging in. I used to take everything at face value. I used to never want to know more and assume less. I used to be a terrible communicator. While I’m still not AMAZING at it, I get better everyday. I say a LOT “tell me more so I can understand MORE and jump to conclusions LESS”. Knowledge is powerful. Love is powerful. And taking a second look when you didn’t have the best start??? Powerful ❤️
These two could not be more different - in size (obviously) but also in personality (at least so far!).
And yet I feel like I’m raising them the same AND feeding them the same things - I swear! But it just goes to show that we are all so different and even the same set of circumstances will produce different outcomes!
~So why do we assume all working moms want the same thing??~
**hint- We don’t. At least not exactly. Because what works for one working mama may not be the right answer for you, your baby, your family and your work.
This is why I firmly believe that we as new mamas need to speak up and advocate for our needs at home and at work, especially with your manager!
Just because Susan down the hall came back to work and stays until 7pm regularly, doesn’t mean it works for me.
And vice versa. Just because Jane decided to move into less stressful, support role, doesn’t mean I want to give up my client facing position.
The assumptions made about us as working moms contributes to the gender gap and can hold us back from leadership opportunities.
And managing our own manager’s expectations and (likely) their bias towards working moms (even if they themselves are a working mom!) is one thing you can start doing now!
(And yes, it’s just one thing that’s part of complicated systemic bias- but in order to #smashthepatriarchy
, we need to start is!)
