Everything is set up to culminate in the 250 year anniversary of one of NY’s oldest churches, which is located not too far from a mega church. Consequently, that congregation is paltry at best.
Ethan’s Toller is having a crisis of faith. He seems to be dying, most likely from cancer, but we never know. Also, at the behest of @mingey
, he’s asked to counsel her husband, who in turn is desperately worried about bringing a child into the world because of Global Warming. So much so that he does something drastic.
That fear is passed along to Hawke, who has to deal with a major contributor to both churches whose also a big time plastics polluter. Toller tries to combine his problems, using the upcoming major ceremony to enact karmic retribution (if not somewhat divine retribution). Things, as is always the case, do not go as planned. So much so, that when we get to the ending cut to black, we get a loud shout of “What?!” Be warned of you chose to see this #movie
