Their trail had ventured on for hours in the bitter cold, leaving Peter behind to guide the female wolf and her cubs home they set about their way to Nannas house. But it was dangerously cold, winter was harsh and showed little mercy to unsheltered beings in the raw forest. There was an awkward silence. As the three of them slowed.
"So, you're into wolves then?" Robin scoffed raising an eyebrow at his younger sister. Red looked at him and scowled. . "And you still wear mother's tights..." She snapped rolling her eyes.
. "Hey! That one was below the belt, these are tights for men" he chuckled playfully. "You do know what this means right?" They both stopped, Beau looked up and watched them bicker "come on Red, don't tell me you don't know!" .
"Know what?!" She frowned as Robin circled her in the snow
"Reddddd!!!" he chuckled "he's the wolf king" .
"And?" She snapped sharply. .
"The alpha, top dog, head mutt, big bad wolf! He laughed with a mischievous grin.
"Get to the point Robin!" She grabbed him by his shoulders as his circling was making her dizzy.
"He's fallen for you!" He grinned like a child .
"It's hardly lov..." "Sissss, the alpha king has chosen his queen, did father never tell you anything about how wolves work?" .
She paused. In fact no her father never told her anything about the wolves, only they were dangerous. Beau looked at Robin and the dots above his brows lowered. He was far from impressed with what Robin was insinuating, and if human he would have slapped him across the back of the head.
They begin to walk further down the track, the snow starting to fall heavy, around them. .
"The alpha male chooses his alpha female. The only two of the pack that have the first kill. He's chosen YOU Red" he shrugged his shoulders .
Red was incredibly cold, the ends of her dress were soaking wet. She could barely feel her toes, Her hood was heavy from the fallen snow and she was still tired from spending the night with Peter.
