Why gossip about one another, why even bother to call each other names? What does that accomplish aside from channelling our own insecurities onto someone else?
Why shame our fellow sisters when they decide on a choice, that we may not have made ourselves?
Why compare our skintones, sizes, bodies, faces, talents, strengths, weaknesses, choices to that of other women?
We don’t need to compare ourselves to anyone or anything to measure our worth or beauty. For beauty resides within the heart and is measured in kindness, love, compassion, patience and similar traits.
We certainly don’t have to put anyone down to make ourselves feel better within our own skin.
So, let’s not look down our noses at any of our fellow sisters, for none of us should feel more entitled than the other. We are all equal in spirit, looking past the exteriority of our bodies and materialistic items we may, or may not have built up for ourselves. Let’s be inspired by a sister when we see she is doing well for herself and use that inspiration as personal motivation. Let’s wish each other well always and support each other when the going gets rough. Let’s compliment each other, because life is too short not to. Let’s not compare, nor compete. As we are all taking steps forward in our individual lives, at our own pace, in our own time and that is a okay!
Empowered women teach everyone to treat each other with respect. Empowered women never stop redefining their own positive self-perception and encouraging other women to do the same. Empowered women build each other up, rather than tearing each other down. Empowered women, empower women.
