Let’s discuss happiness!☺️
Since properly joining social media earlier this year and then trying to break into the modelling world I can truly say I have never seen so much fake happiness. To quote a song* from my FAVE band (Paramore, fyi!) “I love making you believe, what you get is what you see.” Honest to god, it’s like it became a rule of thumb to pretend everything is ok and that you’re sh_t is together 24/7!!
I have some days where I’m just sad, for no real reason I’ve just woken up with, what I often describe as, just a very dark cloud hanging over my head. Some days it’s quite easy to shift out of but sometimes it lasts the whole day, and I don’t know why that is. Most people probably have days like that, but celebs, influencers, public figure AND everyone in between are expected to not feel emotion particularly ones linked to unhappiness and sadness. I’ve heard people say before “they shouldn’t be miserable they’re famous” . As if being a celeb suddenly ZAPS ⚡️⚡️ any mental health or confidence issues or any of life’s problems away!!
This picture for me represents true unadulterated happiness I got to spend what could’ve been just a dull Sunday with Alvin playing arcade games like we were little kids and it was so bloody amazing!! I’m not saying everyday is like this because some days I’m an irritable ars*face. What I am saying is it needs to be just as ok to post something about sadness as it already is for happy images like this one- I’m not talking horrible images but stuff that allows people to express their sadness healthily. Expect more pics of our arcade trip in the coming days!
*the song is called Fake Happy, definitely the band commenting on the fakeness and pretending expected of people in the public eye!!
