“Her face was like the King’s command when all the swords are drawn”
- Hillaire Balloc
Over the years, many designers have looked to our home town Jaipur for inspiration and have successfully crafted great collections that portray a rather feminine side of the city, usually having the ‘Pink’ color of the city backdrop as the base.
We wanted to break away from that stereotype and showcase our ‘NAYAAB’ take that depicts the strength and masculine side of the city, fortified by the ‘People’s Princess’ for decades.
Maharani Gayatri Devi, considered a fashion icon in India and the world, is the inspiration behind this story.
For a conservative era, the Maharani made strides for women not only with her unique take on traditional Indian style, but also with a fierce attitude towards living a life of purpose well past her days as the Maharani of Jaipur.
In ‘Nayaab’, the women are empowered to drape modern silhouettes embellished with golden zari & prints and as a result experience the royalty that Jaipur exudes.
