Yesterday our Hoku was playing fetch and some how stabbed a stick in to her tongue. She was pretty shaken up. Ian examined her mouth and made sure nothing was in there. He put Copaiba on her tongue after it happened. Then last night we snuggled her and reassured her. Then Ian put some helichrysum behind her ears later. Then before bed I petted her with a little Trauma Life oil to help her adjust. This morning she was better and by mid morning she was back to her normal bouncy wagging self. Here is a photo of Rowan laying with her, she put mom’s rose quartz heart by Hoku’s mouth to help her heal. Our animals are so special to our family.

Did you know your dog actually improves your health? As if we needed another reason to love dogs... Studies have found that owning a dog is associated with lower anxiety and stress levels, and that means lower blood pressure and number of doctor visits from the ill effects of chronic stress.
Meet Harley, she’s my daily dose of stress relief ☺️

If you’ve ever had a pet, you understand this . . .
The past few days were perplexing and yesterday even more so for my husband and I. Our German shepherd, Shelby, had recently started acting odd, not eating crumbs off the floor that the kids dropped, refusing to bend all the way down to the floor to lick out a bowl and just in the past couple days she started whining more. Until yesterday when she was whimpering and randomly yelping! We figured out that she was in pain but simply could not find where on her body. My husband took her to the ER vet yesterday afternoon and the prognosis was probably inflammation in her left hip. We knew that she might develop hip issues (because she’s a purebred GSD and they’re prone to it) but this situation was so random and unexplained it concerned us.
We believe her left hip became inflamed because of her leaping up and down our hill in the snow we’ve had this winter. It possibly happened during one of our part snow storms.
So today she’s been resting, on meds to reduce inflammation and help ease the pain, and we are looking forward in the next couple weeks to seeing how she had improved!
We love our girl Shelby so much. She’s such a good dog to our family. ♥️🐶 #germanshepherd #germanshepherdofig #germanshepherdsdaily #puppylove #dogmom #weloveourpets #familydog #carpenterfamily #lifewithpets #thegrayhousegirl
I have created a GoFundMe page for my disabled dog. Unfortunately her back legs have gave up. An MRI cost way too much just to know what exactly is wrong. In the meantime we want to get her a wheelchair. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for those that have already donated. It means the world. #disableddog #familydog #shihtzu #doggywheelchair
