After a good night Kani went up before Hawthorne woke. After having some noodles at the market she headed straight to Valentine's office.
She knocks on the the door and a female voice responds.
Kani enters the office. It's crowded with file cabinets and papers all over. There's a woman sitting behind a desk closest to the entrance. Behind her a man, or part man part machine, sitting with his feet on his desk smoking a cigarette. His bright yellow eyes pierces through the dim and smoke filled room as he looks at Kani.
“I'm Ellie. This here is Nick,” the woman says and points at the detective. “Can I help you?” She asks.
“I'm looking for a person. Was hoping I could have a word with Nick,” Kani says.
“Of course, step right in.”
Kani walks up to Nick who puts down the cigarette and gets up to greet his guest.
“Hello miss. I'm Nick Valentine, private detective. Specializing in missing people. Who are you looking for?” he says and shakes Kani's hand.
“Straight to business, I like that. It's a man I have reason to believe hired you some time ago. Vault dweller, was looking for his son. And the Institute.”
Nick sits down again and takes a long look at Kani.
“What's your interest in this particular man?”
“We're looking for the same thing. The Institute.”
“I'm gonna be straight with you because I don't want to waste your time miss. Yes, he came to me but I don't give up my clients whereabouts to anyone walking in here.”
“I think we could help each other out.”
“I'm sure you can. But I don't know you and you gotta be careful in the Commonwealth. Especially when the Institute in involved. It's nothing personal. Now, if you excuse me I have a lot of paperwork to finish before I'm going out of town for a while.“
Kani was getting upset and frustrated over all the goddamn discretion from everybody. But she kept a calm face.
“I see. Well, thank you for your time though.”
Kani went out to the market again to get a nuka cola and browse the shops. She was determined to find this vault dweller and see what he knew about getting inside the Institute. She had a plan and it started with a little waiting game.
A quick DNA test proved my identity, and they deployed a team to check out Vault 111. Danse lead me up to the roof of the police station, where a vertibird waited. I frowned, those things had only been prototypes, every single one I’d seen in action had crashed magnificently. “Come on, Soldier, can’t leave Elder Maxson waiting.” Danse called over the motor noise when he saw me hesitate.
Clenching my teeth, I climbed aboard, clinging to my seat as the thing shifted and shuddered into the air. A glance out the side, let me see how bad the devastation truly was. Below the city lay a destroyed canopy of buildings, bridges, and vehicles.
Danse yelled, “looks a lot different from up here, doesn’t it?”
I nodded, closing my eyes and leaning back.
Danse nudged me, “We’re coming up on the Prydwen. Magnificent isn’t she?”
I opened my eyes and was greeted by a huge airship suspended over the airport. She was most definitely magnificent. I felt my stomach flip as the Vertibird swung around and shutter as it locked into place on the flight deck.
Danse jumped down then turned, waiting for me to exit, saying. “Elder Maxson is waiting for us on the Command Deck.”

Truth games between the Railroad's best agents 🥂
They settled on the floor behind a counter. As the Vodka scorched her throat and wet her lips, Maya grinned to herself as she thought of something fun she used to do when drinking with her friends in college.
"I've got a game you should be real damn good at. Could be fun if you're up for it?" Deacon made himself comfortable and leaned forward, chin resting on his hand, grinning at her.
“Sounds interesting...I’m good at games. Hit me,” He tapped her on the nose playfully.
Maya sat upright, leaning in all serious with her legs crossed in front of her.
"Okay!" She slapped her thighs enthusiastically, rubbing the spot with a quiet "ow" as she hit them a little too hard. "It’s a simple game! Two truths and a lie. You have to say three things about yourself. One lie and two truths. It’s up to the other person to guess the lie. If they don’t then they have to drink! Sound good?"
Deacon chuckled. “Hm, alright.” He leaned forward, eyebrow raised as he examined her. “Seems unfair though. We both know I’m the best liar in the Commonwealth, I mean, c’mon,” he grinned, stretching confidently. The cerulean of his eyes being rolled barely visible behind the shades.
"Second best" She corrected with a smirk. "Okay hot-stuff. You're so confident then go ahead. You can start." She rubbed her hands together in preparation, violet eyes wide with excitement. "But remember, there has to be two truths and you must be entirely honest." She warned and glared at him, leaning forward and resting her chin on her entwined fingers to study him intently. Almost as if she were preparing for a battle. .

Whoo hoo! Finally done! I really invested much time in this, and tried to make a decent background. It's in no way perfect but I think it's pretty good for a nooby digital artist! I gotta learn somehow right? Please let me know your thoughts and keep reading for a little narrative about this piece and my girl, Virtuosa.
Virtuosa lives in a town up north, about 22 miles from Boston called Topsfield. A rather well off settlement, thanks to its close proximity to Willowdale State Forest and Mass Audubon's Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary. Both places are teeming with radiated wildlife, such as mongrel dogs, mole rats. It's predominantly Radstags and Yao Guai territory in Willowdale. At Ipswich River, as you can guess, has a well populace of Milurks. It was a gold mine for Topsfield, as it meant plentiful meat to trade, that being a whole story for another time about how that went south quickly, a time the people call the "Meat Rush". But getting back on track, the people, aside from liscened traders, are only permitted to hunt to feed the household. As you can imagine, it's extremely dangerous to head out to such a "lively" forest because of the wildlife as well as the threat of Rowley Raiders (located at the town of Rowley, North of Willowdale) that could be within the trees. So unless you were extremely familiar with the forest and good with your gun, it is recommended to travel in a group. It's common for groups of three and four to go together having at least one designated "Dead Eye" or sharpshooter, two is preferred. Young miss Virtuosa was one who took on the Dead Eye position being that she already had some experience surviving in the Capital Wasteland and handled a gun well-
