How many times have you “fallen off” your diet?
How many times have you snacked or drank a little too much?
How many times have you said tomorrow I’ll do better?
How many times have you felt guilty after eating or drinking something?
How many times have you stressed over the food you’ve eaten?
How many times have you blamed willpower or a rough day?
Changing your diet is changing your mind.
Changing your diet CHANGES your mind.
1. Stop thinking of your diet as a diet and start thinking about it as a lifestyle. “I am a person who enjoys healthy food because it makes me feel good” sounds a lot better and less restrictive than “I am eating healthy food because I need to lose weight”
2. Progress. Not perfection. You get to choose how you feel with each bite. You get to listen to your body. Will every bite of every day be “perfect” ? no. Will it be perfect in that moment. Yes. So go with it. Drop the guilt. Drop the shaming. Drop the should’ves. Recognize when your body feels satisfied and stop. And enjoy every damn bite of everything you’ve just eaten.
3. Release stress and guilt around certain foods. Often times it’s Not even the food we eat but the emotions around the food we eat that cause us to gain and hold onto weight.
Shifting your mindset around the food can be as simple as “this tastes good so I’m eating it”. Obviously recognize your goals and if it is not conducive to them, limit your intake, common sense is helpful here. But release the stress. Release the guilt.
4. It’s not about the willpower. It’s about your emotions around the food. How do you feel around certain foods? How do certain foods make you feel? What else gives you that feeling? If you’re trying to shift your eating habits, make a list of everything that helps you feel good (like certain foods do) and supplement those activities for eating. Pretty soon your brain stops associating cheat meals with feeling good and starts associating walking, writing, etc with it.
5. Eat foods that fuel your body. Food literally impact your body via the gut/brain axis.... MORE IN COMMENTS
We can’t see clearly when we are stressed just how far we have come and just how blessed we really are.

. I never thought/ nor did I want to ever be writing this but I want to be 100% honest with you all. I’m no longer vegan. Here’s why: This is not an easy topic for me to talk about but for years now I have been suffering with severe IBS. Food has always been both my love and my enemy at the same time. I have always tried my hardest to do everything I can to help improve my pain & symptoms and heal my gut but over the last few years it’s just been getting worse. Sometimes I feel like I can’t eat anything without it upsetting my stomach 😣 Most days I wake up with anxiety because I’m constantly stressing over what I am going to eat that day and how it’ll affect me. I turned to veganism a few years ago to help with my symptoms and for a while it did... but not for long. Overtime I’ve come to realise that there are so many foods that I can’t tolerate including; wheat products, oats, soy products and most fruits. Cutting all these foods - and more - out of my diet has made being vegan quite a challenge. So I started eating eggs & fish to give me some variety and keep me feeling fuller longer. If any of you suffer with IBS I hope you can relate to what I’m going through. As I said this was not an easy decision and I hope you all understand why I am doing this. I will always strive to be as plant based as possible as I really do believe it is the healthiest way to live.
I don’t want another year to past and you’re still in the same position as last year🙅🏾♀️. Enough is enough!! 💕⠀

Learning to forgive yourself and love yourself anyway is hard. I’ve spent plenty of days/nights/months/years, blaming myself for other people’s actions. Basing my self worth off of the way others treated me, good or bad. I’m sure maybe you’ve been there too? 🤷🏼♀️
I know what it’s like to look in the mirror and feel anything but love. Shame, disgust, hatred, resentment, boredom...and it’s still a process y’all. I’ll never sit here and tell you “just love yourself” 💁🏼♀️because I know it’s not as simple as flipping a switch sometimes. It’s a process and depending on where you’re starting it can be a long road.
But you know something you CAN do?Choose to become resilient. Develop grit. Be willing to fall flat on your face and fail over and over again. But stand your ass back up every time, even if you have to reach for a hand to help you up. Just stop. fucking. giving. up. You are NOT alone, you are NOT broken, and you are so beyond worth all of the love and respect that you dole out to everyone else but for some reason stop at yourself. Can we change that please?
No more. Put yourself high on your list of values, starting now. This is your one and only life to experience-you choose how that goes down. I’m here for you babe. I gotchu 👏🏼💕

While not something you want to hear in many situations, those three little words might just be music to my ears. What are those? Why do they matter? or put simply, why print? To which I ask, "Why not?"⠀

For so long I struggled with my weight. For years, it wrecked me every single day. I’ve always been a “bigger” person. I mean, when I was younger, every single guy was littler than me (I’ll show you a bomb ass picture to prove it). It wasn’t until the 6th grade however, when someone called me fat for the first time, that it was ever presented as a bad thing to me. I was always aware I was “bigger,” but I really never thought deeply about it until that word set in.
From that point on, my weight became my identity. My negative narrative and the focal point of the repetitive record of self-hate playing in my head. It became my worth and secretly all I ever cared about.
Now I realize, after going through that struggle, that my weight was my purpose. That struggle brought me to this place. To finding my own inner babe and founding YOUR INNER BABE for all the women out there who are going through what I went through.
To be clear, I'm NOT a weight loss coach. I’m not going to count your calories and I’m definitely not going to tell you what to eat. I’m much more than that. I’m a mentality shifter. I can shift the way someone thinks about themselves, shift how they feel in their own bodies, shift them into being proud of who they are. And there is nothing more powerful than that.

Oh my goodness does it feel incredible to make vibrations of music
Am I a noob? Heck yes
Do I have any idea what I’m doing? Not really .
Am I in love? Heck yes 😍

to my first & only fitness photoshoot 4 years ago. Honestly I never thought of sharing these, not that I’m not proud of the work I put in back then, but because of what working solely for aesthetics brought out within me. .
What you don’t see is the total mindf*ck that is tying your identity to a physical or performance based goal or label. The thing is...these beliefs started long before I ever stepped foot in a gym. When we believe our worthiness is only attained upon achieving such a goal, we’re always chasing, always running, never content, and...never enough. .
I want to speak on this because I still catch it in the act, but the more I learn about myself & the fact that it has NOTHING to do w/ your nutrition or workout regimen & ONLY your core beliefs about who you are. Some things that have been helpful for me is learning about my intrinsic strengths, how our beliefs are not reality but only our perception of them, finding a purpose, faith & being #creativeaf
This doesn’t mean don’t work for aesthetics. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look, feel, & thrive upon reaching a particular size, shape, confidence level. It means knowing you are not your body & having security in who you are before chasing an external goal. ✨
It means knowing if your priority is A) physique or is it B) happiness & making sure the latter is not dependent on the former. Lastly, give yourself some props just for showing up before you start the transformation process.
