Girls rolling straight into a 1.5k TT
Welcomed the girls back to training with a 1.5km time trial.
Whilst it is certainly not the most specific test for footballers (the yoyo-ir1 or the 30-15 would be more specific) it is still a great test for testing the athletes aerobic capacity and gaining their maximal aerobic speed.
Although it is not the most specific test available, it is not heavily resource dependent, takes little to no time to set up, is easy to administer, is valid and reliable and most importantly it is easy for coaches and athletes to understand the results of the test.
From the MAS scores attained from the time trial the girls will complete a range MAS based conditioning drills, from longer intervals at 85-95% MAS, to more intensive intervals above 100%, to eurofit intervals at 120%, which will progress from extensive to intensive as the preseason progresses
