The humble courgette/zucchini. One of my favourite vegetables. The courgette flowers are a delicacy. Best eaten with stuffed ricotta, which I no longer consume. Courgettes are so versatile and can be eaten raw or cooked. Do you love them as much as I do?

What did hacking my Methylation issues mean for me? It meant: . Reversing chronic pain and debilitating Injuries . The ability to detox from heavy metal toxicity . Reversing autoimmunity . Massively improved energy . Improved sleep . Decreased anxiety . In a Nutshell: Getting my life back!! . I tested through @23andMe , and my awesome ND interpreted the results and guided my supplements. . Who should be tested? Basically anyone with autoimmunity, autism, chronic pain, or other chronic illness that is not solved by identifying other root causes. If any mutations are identified, taking certain supplements could really have a positive effect! . (Note: I had Unspecified Autoimmunity that looked like Lupus on my labs. This was in addition to a previous diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis. It was Paleo that reversed the Ulcerative Colitis, and the Methylation solutions that reversed the Unspecified Autoimmunity... nutrition has been so important for me! I can’t believe these two will both be going for a full day of school in just a couple weeks! Except for Dot starting a half day in April, I have spent the last 5 years of my life with at least one of them at home with me. I am so excited for this new chapter, but of course feeling a little sad that my babies are growing up! 😩However, this does mean that this mom will have more time for herself. 💃💃 What that looks like for me is more time for workouts, meal prepping and grocery shopping, working part time on my coaching business, and part time at the Holistic Chiropractor’s office, and maybe even a lunch date here or there 😍❤️. Já que quarta passada não rolou receitinha por aqui, hoje tem receita em dose dupla! 🤩 ・・・ ENERGY BALLS com Maca Peruana 🔥 Estas belezinhas são uma ÓTIMA opção para deixar pronto em casa e comer no lanche da tarde ou pré treino! Irão te fornecer energia rápida e constante e saciedade por um bom tempo 😉 . Ingredientes: 52g de tâmaras (+/- 6 unid) 90g de figos secos (+/- 8unid) 30g de amêndoas 25g de nozes 60g de proteína em pó sabor neutro ou outro de tua preferência 30g de cacau nibs 40g de pasta de amendoim 1 col de sopa de maca peruana em pó 2 col de sopa de cacau em pó Canela em pó Gengibre em pó Cardamomo em pó Pimenta cayena em pó 1/2 xic de água quente OU chá verde/café (para dar um sabor extra - amo fazer com café 😍) . Modo de preparo: Deixe as frutas secas de molho em água por no mínimo 2 horas, reserve. Em um processador triture as castanhas até ficar uma farofa fina, depois, acrescente as frutas secas com a água do demolho e bata até ficar uma pasta grossa e moldável, transfira esta pasta para um bowl, acrescente todos os outros ingredientes e mãos à massa! They’re easy (and healthy) for him because he gets busy and forgets to eat. (Relatable, right?) ⠀⠀ One day last week, he and his coworker were knee-deep in a huge problem right around lunchtime. His coworker didn’t have lunch and was just going to go get some crackers from the vending machine so they could keep working. ⠀⠀ My selfless boyfriend sweetly gave his second smoothie to his coworker so he didn’t have to eat crackers for lunch, even though he admitted it was painful to part with his chocolate smoothie. A big ole plate of carbs & fat to start this Wednesday mornin’ 😍 Some may look at this plate & think giiiiiiirl where is your protein?! And as much as I still love to focus on making sure I get a variety of protein, carbs & healthy fats in my meals/snacks....this plate is simply all I wanted this AM. No need to add eggs or yogurt or another protein source to my breakfast “just to get in protein”. Some days I pair this with something else & other days like today, I have it on its own. Simple and comforting meal with plenty of plant protein- curried jasmine rice, baked tofu, sautéed greens and avocado. This bowl is so modifiable. Just use the curried rice and tofu as a base and add any and all vegetables! ______ Cook rice as you would but add 1 tsp curry powder (I use and love @simplyorganicfoods curry powder) to the cooking liquid. Bake tofu cubes coated in arrowroot powder for 25 min at 425 F. Then marinate baked tofu in a simple Asian-inspired sauce for 5 minutes (@bragglivefoodproducts liquid aminos, chili infused sesame oil + avocado oil, honey), then stir fry for a few minutes to brown the outside. Sautéed greens of choice in a small amount of oil, Himalayan pink salt and garlic powder. Top with avocado slices, green onions, squeeze of lime juice. I topped this pizza with mushrooms, onions, artichokes, sun dried tomatoes, olives, garlic, salt, pepper, & nutritional yeast. . I used nutritional yeast in place of cheese. Love roasted veggies Tonight I made turnip fries. Growing up my favorite food was McDonalds fries 🍟 and ketchup. Well I’m working on not eating so many 🥔🥔🥔🥔 and #GlutenFree grains. They are my go tos when I want comfort. So instead I purchased some turnips and tried them out instead. . Oven 425, cut turnips into less than 1/2 inch in width. Season them with your favorite potato 🥔 seasonings and oil. I used coconut oil and avocado 🥑 oil. Spread them out on a baking sheet. Make sure they are not touching each other. Turn them halfway through cooking. They should be golden brown. I had them in oven for 30 minutes. Enjoy! 😋

What’s the best type of workout to do?🤔 - Whatever you can stick to, makes you happy, & excited AF to get your sweat on👏🏻 •• Doesn’t matter if that’s HIIT Weightlifting Yoga Distance Running Biking Spin Classes Powerlifting Whatever it is, DO IT! •• If you remember from my last couple of fitness-y update posts, I said that I was going to be switching up my training to focus more on strictly weight lifting & max strength, along with increasing food slightly - Since then, I've been doing exactly that ^^ for the past couple months & my body has definitely responded in a positive way! More muscle growth, I can lift heavier, I can eat more & its not effecting me like it used to, allll da good stuff •• BUT A negative I've been noticing? - My actual desire to make it to the gym is shot (yes I still get there but its a struggle) & this drives me insane because if you know me, going to the gym normally lights me up inside I'm straight up BORED and not fully enjoying the process, which is the absolute most important part - So instead of just telling you that you should be finding what works best for YOU, I'm taking my own advice too & doing something about it👊🏻 •• What exactly will I be doing? ✖️ Keeping my main heavy compound lifts a part of my routine (leg press, deadlifts, hip thrusts, & other "big" muscle movements for upper body) butttt I plan to add back in circuit style training afterwards + HIIT like 2 times a week! For me, this challenges my body but it also gets my endorphins soarin' on anotha levellll💦 ✖️ Changing up some of the foods that are in my daily routine I'm not going to go into detail with this now bc I can say sooo much about it/why I'm doing it but basically gut health/low inflammation is what I'm prioritizing!🥑 •• Its okay to get bored & feel like you need to change something (its actually way more than okay) but what I don't believe is okay, is trying to force your body to do something if you're not truly enjoying it - Your body will kick back & resist, its smart like that! •• So take the extra time to tune in Listen to what it's telling you✨ & move/train in a way that gets you excited to workout, sweat, and challenge yourself🙌🏻

You need the proper fuel to get the most out of your workouts. The body needs the balanced amounts of protein,carbs, and fats for optimal benefits and it’s different for everyone! . 2-FACT Carbohydrates should be the body's main source of energy in a healthy balanced diet. Glucose is used by your body for energy, fuelling all of your activities, whether going for a run or simply breathing. Unused glucose can be converted to glycogen found in the liver and muscles. Also your brain needs carbs to function properly. That’s because your brain runs on glucose, and you get glucose from carbs. If you don’t have enough of them, your ability to think, learn, and remember stuff will decrease because neurotransmitters in your brain will not have enough glucose to synthesize properly. . 3-FACT High-protein diets may promise weight loss, but it may only be short term. Excess protein is usually stored as fat while the surplus of amino acids is excreted. This can lead to weight gain over time, especially if you consume too many calories while trying to increase your protein intake. Eating large amounts of protein can lead to bad breath, especially if you restrict your carbohydrate intake. This because your body goes into a metabolic state called ketosis, which produces chemicals that give off an unpleasant fruity smell. Also causes your body to be in a high acidic state leaving you open to certain types of cancer and autoimmune diseases. .
