Day seven back day . warm up with cardio, 20 minuets on the treadmill and 10 minuets on the bike . once cardio was done I went straight to abs 2 variations with 3 set of 30 reps per set . Once abs were done i started back off with deadlifts starting with 135lbs working up to 405 for a almost full rep, gonna get it next time! . after the deadlifts i started some bent over barbell rows starting with the bar and progressing up with 10lbs each set doing a total of 9 sets caping at 215lbs for 2 reps . next wide grip lat pull down about 5 sets pretty heavy low reps . followed by behind the neck lighter weight for 4 sets . And next was rope pulldowns for 3 sets, hitting the back from all the angles . Once the pull downs were complete I hit seated rows for 4 sets moderate weight more towards the heavy side . Finishing back with x-man pull downs, idk what they are called but thats what I call them, when you are using cables on both sides and on your knees, it has a great stretch and no room for cheating . Next I did 2 variations for traps, shrugs and a bar front row 4 sets each . To finish I did biceps 2 variations 5 sets each going heavy and drop setting on the 5th set for both variants . Decline movement focuses more on the lower portion of the chest and also anterior deltoid. Decline movements are one of the ignored exercises in the gym but it is always good to use this to hit the chest muscles from different angles and hence benefiting to have bigger pecs.Control the weights during eccentric movement. Got an awesome pair of 1.9” thick Olympic dumbbells. Started the workout with dB rows. (Not shown) 126 x 5 Right, x 4 Left. Then hit 3 singles of cleans with 86 pounds. The third video illustrates why Brooks Kubik warned about using two thick handled dumbbells at once. I thought I was being clever sneaking a front squat in, I’m still not really sure what happened. I started using #KettleBells last #training cycle and have no more need for #dumbbells or #FreeWeights really, aside from the occasional phase of power rows. I highly recommend using these for #BodyTension exercises, like #TurkishGetUps , as well as extra weight for hangs and pull ups. They're so much more comfortable than piling plates between your legs. . Also, I'm getting STOKED for Vesper next month! 😛💪🏼🚀 #LetsGo !
Right now we are on a little family trip to Victoria, but this morning I still made time for my workout. Usually you’ll find me @stevenashfitnessclubs , (pictured above) but luckily our hotel @hotelgrandpacific had a great gym so I could keep up with my routine. It’s totally okay to take a break from exercise on vacay if you want or need it, but I was looking forward to doing this program I’ve put together for myself. I promised a while back on my instastories that I’d share it with you guys, so make sure to save & try it. FULL BODY STRENGTH WORKOUT: (Warm up) ➡️Eccentric or assisted chinups AMRAP x3 ➡️BB Squat 3x12 ➡️Single leg Romanian Deadlift 3 sets of 12 reps in each leg ➡️Triset: A: Bicep Curls B: Tricep Extensions C: Shoulder Press (Do these 3 exercises back to back. Take a 1-2 min break & repeat 3x12) ➡️Cable Face Pull 3x12 ➡️ Feet elevated, DB Glute bridge 3x20 For all of these, choose weights that will let you do 12 reps, but just barely. Rest 1-2 minutes between each set. Make sure to stretch after. AMRAP=as many reps as possible DB=dumbbell BB=barbell If you have any questions about the workout out, let me know. Dumbbell or barbell? I saw that question posed by @oakbuiltfitness a little bit ago. When I first started really lifting weights, my left elbow and/or shoulder started hurting. Apparently, that meant my left arm was compensating for my right. I really like barbell, but dumbbell helped my arms catch up with each other. Today, I focused purposely on my form for the dumbbell chest presses. Barbell form is now locked in, but I still struggle with dumbbell.
