Lunch time rolls around.. and you feel that familiar rumble in your stomach.. Your body is telling you it needs food, right?
.Hunger is triggered by many different factors.. Here are a few:
.1️⃣ Habit: If your body is used to being fed 4 times a day, then your brain will send signals to your stomach 4 times a day at the expected meal time...kind of like a calendar alert on your phone.. but that doesn’t necessarily mean you NEED food! In fact, the more you eat, the hungrier you feel! .
.2️⃣ Social: Who feels hungry for popcorn when they go to the movies? 🙋🏻♀️ We associate certain experiences with food- wings at a ball game, junk food on a road trip etc.. The food industry invests billions in reinforcing these associations until we can not imagine one experience without the other.
.3️⃣Stress: Who here has NOT drowned their sorrows in a bag of chips or an ungodly amount of ice cream!!! Our emotions play a central role in food ‘cravings’ .
.So how can you break these behavioral associations? How can you learn to tune in to your body’s REAL hunger signals? .
.If you fast a few days a week, your body will stop expecting food at regular intervals, and will stop sending signals to trigger hunger. .
.How powerful would it be to have control over what and when you eat! Reclaim your hunger! 💪🏼
