Belly rubs are in order after this long run bc this is THE best run I’ve had all week, and definitely beats last week’s long run and some before that! Summer running in Texas always humbles me and adding pregnancy, brings a whole other level of patience, persistence, and reality! The little vampire aka munchkin #2
truly holds most of the cards as to what I’m able to do and tolerate during this precious time, BUT today felt great! Despite the initial extra heavy legs the first 3 miles, then trying to stay hydrated, having to pee, and looking like I’ve already peed (bc...sweat), simultaneously 🤣😩🤷🏽♀️, it felt like a pre-pregnancy run! ☺️ I’ve managed to maintain 25 to 30 miles per week (outside of the 2 week vacay), and let me just say, some of the shorter workouts don’t feel “easy” and don’t leave me smiling, so this run was definitely a nice change of pace! 👊🏽💪🏽

Did my first day of 1/2 marathon training on July 17th. My training plan is a 13 week program. I knew I was more than 13 weeks out so I’ve been very hit or miss, knowing I didn’t “have to” officially start training until 9/22.
I’ve decided that “have to” Mindset is going away today!! Instead I’m replacing it with a “want to” Mindset! I used my training plan and backed it up to start on Saturday 8/18 instead of 9/22! NO MORE EXCUSES! The only person that can do that, is me 🙋🏻♀️👈🏼👈🏼👈🏼!!! .
I know if I go ahead and start training now as opposed to waiting I’ll be stronger and likely able to shave some time off of my time throughout training and ultimately on race day!! I WANT to make this happen!! 👊🏼💪🏼
I share this to hopefully encourage and inspire someone else! I’m not perfect, I set goals and don’t always stick to them!! For me having a plan is key, so I made a spreadsheet. I have to see that plan to know where I’m going! Know what helps you and moves you forward, go do it!!! .
