The 4th day in a row of hard training is never easy. Muscles are sore, joints are achy, and I need more sleep. But on this Hump Day, I was determined to get it all done. I started the day with a WOD a missed earlier in the week, a comptrain benchmark:
15/10 Cal Bike
(8:23), I used it as a warm up, so it wasn’t my best. My first and and last rounds were my fastest. It’s definitely a great workout worth repeating.
Then we started the Strength with Snatches, working up to 85% for 3 reps (175lbs). The last one felt snappy, so I hit one more at 185lbs, and stopped there. @mattlusher
and I then finished off with snatch pulls and light front squats.
Then we hit 2 more WODs, WOD 1: “Roddy Piper”
12 min AMRAP:
Power Snatch 95/65
- 30 DUs after every round.
Let me just say, I was NOT feeling it! We bumped up the gymnastics this week and it really affected my pulling strength. So I decided to focus on technique and go at a slow, deliberate pace. I took LOOONG rests too! 😆😆😭😭 my score ended up being 268 reps, which includes the DUs. So that’s 10 snatches in the round of 18. I should have been well into my 21’s on a “normal” day.

Lol!, it actually wasn’t that bad, it was just hard. I got 7:19, but easily could have gotten in the low 6’s, I was just thrashed from the week. Normally I would have done my first 9 MUs unbroken, but I had to break them today. At least I did all my thrusters quickly and unbroken. I’d like to try this one again! Happy Hump Day!
