Last year, I started having long and heavy “monthly visits” that made me pray they were only monthly. They would last for weeks sometimes longer than a month! To be honest I was really worried when it KEPT happening. So I WENT TO THE DOCTOR—an ob/gyn—who has dedicated their life and study to the female reproductive system. They sent me for an ultrasound, a very #EXPENSIVE
and IMO, invasive, ultra sound at that. And guess what the results came back as...? “Nothing is wrong with you.” On top of that, no instruction to remedy my situation OTHER than taking out all of my reproductive organs... Seriously? You don’t want to figure out what’s wrong so you just want to remove a piece of me? No cancer, no growths, no tumors or fibroids... and the best advise I could get was to get rid of it. Call me old fashioned, but I still live with the, “if it can be fixed, fix it” mentality. Imagine my continued frustration. Not only was this impacting a lot of areas of my life such as #MOOD
, and obviously my mental health with not knowing what was going on...it also added to my problems with being #ANEMIC
. So there I was, heavily fatigued, frustrated, and seriously worried about my health. What I am left to do, but start doing my own research. I started asking around and reading up on what can affect a women’s cycle. The answer to that is SO MUCH! Ladies, please look into what you are putting on OR inside your bodies during that time of the month. IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. The first thing I did was switch to organic cotton #lolatampons
, and within ONE CYCLE my period shortened to 6 days while previously it was lasting 12-36 days. There’s more.... in end of Oct 2018, after I had been using Lola and diva cup for about 6 months, and my “condition” had reversed, I found a stash of my old chemically treated tampons and thought “what a waste.” I began to doubt that that was what was causing my heavy, prolonged bleeding. I used them. My next cycle for Dec was as pictured, 20days!! I immediately switched back and Jan 2019s cycle was back to normal! 🙌🏼🎉 Today I threw the stash away!
