dinner was bourbon shrimp with rice and green beans. I paired it with Marula Pinotage from @travelingvineyard.
The smokiness of the pinotage was fantastic with the bourbon sauce.

I can’t believe it’s already the last day of September, the time has certainly flown by but I’m excited for October as it kind of feels like the beginning of the holiday season!! And most certainly if I thought September flew by the next three months will be a whirlwind but I live it! So just because time waits for no one doesn’t mean you can’t take advantage of this months specials before they pass you by! Gobble Review Bistro Filet au Poivre with demi glace and roasted garlic mashed potatoes
Yum! This was delicious and super easy to throw together. Instead of cooking the steaks on the stove I opted to use the grill and cooked them 2 minutes per side. They were on the petite size but were the perfect portion of meat. The quality was outstanding as well! We cut them with butter knives and they melted in your mouth. The seasoning provided reminded me pastrami seasoning... LOVED it. The carrots and snap peas charred in a skillet with a little bit of rosemary olive oil. I didn't add water as the recipe stated and just let them get a nice brown and didn't disturb them too much. The potatoes came pre-made. All you had to do was heat them up in the microwave and then add the roasted garlic (came roasted ready to go). They were really yummy and I loved the demi on them. The demi was also all ready to go and just needed a little heating. I should have thinned it out a tiny bit before plating because it looks more like a thicker type of beef gravy. Overall this was a solid meal and it was fun to try out a new company.
