We were extremely mindful when choosing the materials that would be used for our benches, and our straps were no exception. We are proud to say that our straps are made of a 100% organic, chemical free, sustainable hemp fibre! They are also extremely durable and versatile! When you are not using your strap to adjust the height of your bench, it can be removed and used on its own to assist you in your yoga practice ✨💚
We get a lot of questions about why we decided to use a strap for the height adjustment instead of just having it “click” into place. The simple answer to the question is that the strap allows OmBase to be more adjustable and versatile. Using the strap, you have the ability to secure OmBase at ANY height between 3”-7” instead of just clicking into a few fixed heights.
If you have any questions about OmBase, or why we have incorporated certain elements into the product-please reach out and ask! We are happy to answer any questions you may have! 😊

What does it mean when somebody says "I want to deepen my practice?" While that answer may widely vary, it generally includes discovering a stronger alignment of the postures one is already familiar with, as well as, learning some of the more advanced postures. Most often the desire also exists for a more comprehensive understanding of yoga anatomy in addition to developing a greater understanding of the following key aspects of yoga:
1) Body Awareness
2) Breathing Techniques
3) History, Philosophy & the Spirituality of Yoga
I am thrilled to be offering this in depth 8 part series launching next month! We will be using innovative learning techniques to dive deeper into our understanding of Yoga. This course will present you with the possibility to expand in ways that will surprise and delight you. You will conclude this dynamic eight part series with so many more tools in your tool-box, but it will require strength of commitment, willingness to remain open throughout, and a sustainable hunger for more!
Check out further details on the attached poster, you can leave questions, comments or concerns below, and or email me at email@example.com.

Been a while posting as I literally had no signal in Kruger national park.
Digital detox was well and truly a habit I’m gonna try and revisit frequently during 2019.
Up at 4.30am everyday for a safari, it was the first time ever I haven’t ever needed the snooze button. Saw the Big Five and so much more. Nearly got killed by one of the ugly five, had to drive quickly away from a potential elephant stampede and got growled at by a very grumpy leopard. 🙌🏼 best 🙌🏼 trip 🙌🏼ever.
Sexy South Africa if you need a yoga teacher who is happy to be paid in your South African Shiraz gimme a shout 😂🍷 Quick flow for you all here. I love practising outside particularly when it’s hot as it challenges the pranayama practice but is wonderful for deepening flexibility. Here it is 34 degrees Celsius!!! Phew!!!
Notice in Prasarita Padottasana I scooch my feet in so I can feel the hamstring stretch. Don’t take the feet wide here just to get your head to the floor. It’s all about the hamstrings - unless you want to transition to headstand imho 😁
Anyway South Africa, I adore you and will be back mega soon.

There are many paths of Yoga. Here in the West, one of the most common is the physical practice of asana, and what is for most of us the first introduction. For many students the physical mat parctice gives you complete satisfaction or contentment (santosha), and for other students it opens a door. Behind this door is an awakening of curiosity, of wanting to understand more. For most, this desire begins and ends with their acquisition of knowledge. Others, however, are called upon to share their wisdom.
This 200hr Yoga Teacher Training is the first step to what is beyond the door. An opportunity to expolre, feed your wonder and deepen not only your physical practice, but taste other pratices of yoga in which you can fold into every aspect of your life.
The Journey will lay the foundation for a structured physical practice for yourself or the beginnings of finding your voice to lead. We will cover anatomy of the poses, philosophy, history of yoga, Ayurveda, learn by observing, the what, why and how of sequencing and their methods, building a home practice and, naturally, we will work on adjustments and practice teaching.
This training is for those looking to empower their teaching voice as well as those with a desire to dive into a deeper understanding of their practice and a Yogic life.

Ok everyone I've got a tip for you today! I've been noticing this every now and then and in a moving class it's hard to stop and correct it each time so now I'm going to set this straight here.
Ankles in upward down and downward dog!
I do it three times in the video, take a moment watch it a few times and think what's correct and what's not.... go.
Ok so the first one is the traditional full way of transitioning from upward to downward rolling over your toes. Notice the ankles. You want to keep your ankles safe and in ashtanga and rocket we do this movement so many times if you're doing it wrong it could end up causing some issues, also you may not be getting all the benefits of the movement.
The second time I do it is the incorrect way. Allowing your ankles to roll and fall outwards, first of all this is a sign you're not engaging your thighs in the movement so already the intensity and power of the transition is lost (also the safety of your knees as you allow for a rotation to occur in a movement where you need stability). Second your ankles unless very mobile won't be happy with this long-term. And last, if you have tight ankles already you're losing the stretch you could be getting to make that better.
The last time I do it is also correct, it's a variation you could practice if rolling over your toes to go into upward dog feels like too much at this point.
Things to think about when you next go into your practice:
- keep a long straight line from your hips through yours knees to your ankles and the tips of your toes.
- think of your inner thighs wanting to squeeze together to keep this alignment and engage your thighs lifting your kneecaps all the way through the movement.
- whether you roll over your toes or not think of where you place your toes, visualise and move with full awareness of where you're going. Don't worry so much about how deep your backbend is, your primary focus should be on stability and inner strength.
Try it out and let me know if it was helpful!
Remember, heels in line with your toes! Visualise the long lines of your body and squeeeeeeze! 🙏🏼🤘🏼💙
Namaste and happy Sunday practice!

Transform your asana practice from a physical routine, to an exploration of consciousness. Through unlocking dormant portion of your physical being, and beginning what I refer to as the dialogue of the body, allow a new heightened state of awareness to rehabilitate your structural misbalances and create new pathways in the brain. There is an unspoken assumption, that the shapes we call asanas or postures, inherently have healing effects on the body. However, what is being neglected, and can be supported by body therapists across the globe, is an overwhelming tendency of developing injuries by the yoga community. When postures are practiced incorrectly, they usually cause more damage than benefit. We leave the studio feeling euphoric, a rush of endorphins from the exercise elements in our practice, and hopefully an expansion of breath, from conscious breathing connected to dynamic movements.

i am very excited for this first extended class with you, it's been something I have been trying to organise for ages but I couldn't find the right location. @thestudiodurhamhouse
is a beautiful big space which will give us lots of room to play around with more different postures we may not normally have the time, or space to explore.
expect a strong vinyasa sequence, firing up the core, shoulders and glutes, creating space in the body to play around with some fun postures, like arm balances and inversions.
although this practice will be modifiable to everyone, i wouldn't recommend it for absolute beginners. if in doubt give me a shout. 🧘🏻♀️

Heart open, let it flow. What an amazing energy here in Bali ❤️Learning to see my own greatness, it is a process. Learning to accept myself fully. Learning to show up fully, to show myself fully, to be raw and open and vulnerable. It takes courage to do that. ❤️It takes courage to step into the light. It can be fearful. ❤️ Hiding can sometimes be more easy, but this does not help me nor does it inspire you to grow. Bali has this special energy and this journey is healing. Yes sure i have tough days here as well, days with resistance. i try to see it as a part of the journey. We are all here to grow and to learn, to practice. ❤️❤️ So lets keep on practicing. Join me Monday 14th January at 6 pm for yoga foundations and 7h30pm deepen your practice.

I began practicing yoga and meditation in 1998. Within the first few years of my practice, I had a strong instinct to enroll in a yoga teacher training—but I didn’t. ✨ Turns out it would be the last training Maty Ezraty and Lisa Walford would offer at, what was then an independently owned, YogaWorks. ✨ For a decade, I lived with the “what on earth kind of mistake was that!” feeling and the gnawing desire inside of me that had yet to be fulfilled. ✨ I continued to practice and study and—was pretty much propelled— during the dissertation phase of my PhD program, to look at Classical Yoga through the lens of Jungian-oriented depth psychology and depth psychology through the lens of Classical Yoga. This interplay of Yoga and depth psychology—including my book and the teachings that have resulted—has been one of the great joys of my life. I am deeply grateful to be able to share Yoga psychology’s timeless wisdom, logical consistency and profound vision and insights. ✨
I am excited to begin the year with two new LIVE online study groups. ✨If you are looking to deepen your yoga practice and/or explore Yoga psychology as a grounded Reality-based spirituality, please come join me and some of your fellow yogis as we study the time-worn wisdom of Patañjali’s Yoga Sūtras. ✨
For more details, testimonials, and to sign up, please visit the events page on leannewhitney.com, link in bio. ☝🏼

Offered by donation. Suggested exchange is $20 per class or $100 for all five classes. Pay what you can.
pdfs of the Yoga Sūtras and Katha Upanishad will be provided.
“My brain clings to the Western way of acquiring knowledge and this was an earth shattering approach to the study of the sūtras.” ~Yoga Teacher Trainee 2018
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Hope to see you in the group!
Arm balances can seem intimidating but when you break them down, they are much more accessible than you might think. ⠀
In her Working Towards Arm Balances workshop Leanne will guide you through the stages you need to go through in order to achieve some of these poses and give you detailed explanations. You might not achieve the full pose in just one workshop but you will have a lot of fun and learn a lot in the process.⠀ ⠀
Remember it's all about the journey - not the destination.⠀
This workshop takes place on Saturday 12th January 2-4pm. Price £20.⠀
