I had the pleasure of attending a special Halloween/cosplay event at the studio I am a member of, Parkwood Photography Studios . There were 30 plus photographers there and it was a great night.
I would first like to thank the AMAZING cosplayers for donating their time to be a part of such an educational event. The photographers shoot in small groups and have a limited amount of time to rotate through each member of the group, capturing four images each time. It can feel like you are at a party that is slightly out-of-control, the entire time, but it forces you to think on your feet.
For a composite artist it can be an absolute terror, as we are not allowed to move the lighting pattern that is setup for us by the organizational team. So I have to move the cosplayers to the light that I prefer and hope it works.
I want to give a very special thanks to a brilliant artist, photographer and fast growing friend, Tony Julius Photography for being a constant support of guidance and wisdom. Tony - thank you for letting me shoot along side with you and for introducing me to the amazing cosplayers in attendance!
This event was also co-organized by Comicare, which is a wonderful charity organization that brings heroes and comics to children who are facing difficult battles. These folks are the true heroes of our world and I am thankful they are out there making a difference. Please visit their Facebook page to learn about how you can help them with their mission.
