I hate every time i post a deadlift video I have to say “it’s been awhile since I’ve consistently deadlifted” but unfortunately it’s been awhile since I’ve consistently deadlifted 😅😭 tried 225 for 5 today, was feeling good so I hit 250 for 1 which is my PR 🙌🏽 last time I maxed out was 4-5 months ago and then I fell off a bit so this felt great and promising for getting back into the swing of things. . . With that in mind; told myself it’s time to stick to my program and stop finding every reason in the world to deter or just go on how I’m feeling based on that day because honestly, you’re going to have a ton of bad days, and sometimes those bad days are three in a row and we can’t always let it get the best of us. So here is to pushing through the mud, to sticking to the numbers, to pushing passed the limits your mind sets for yourself. . . . Solid ass deadlift/hamstring/back workout today! Started it all off with a 4x4 @ 605 (80% my 1RM) and this video was of set 4 where I (in my usual Stevie P fashion) AMRAP’d it for 7 reps!! Was pretty freaking stoked because that’s a rep PR for me @ 605lbs! Really feeling a 750lb Pull come Feb at my next meet! Can’t wait because I’m chasing that 2K total and a spot at worlds this year! My biggest problem after not having lifted decently for a while is grip strength. I use no chalk until the grip comes back and I try to do double-over grip as long as possible. 320kcal part two: 6.5k run in the snow. After the gym I met a friend for a quick run in the snow. WANTING THE MOON ON A STICK I'm only 12 days into the recovery from my surgery on my left elbow, but I'm chomping at the bit. My problem? I've been pretty active all my life and I don't like being still, and if I have to be still, then I like to be creative. I haven't had anything major done but an accident where I broken my humerus 16 years ago changed the dynamics in my elbow and compressed the nerve/ caused new bone to grow and I've been in pain and had reduced ROM for the last 3+yrs. Open surgery to decompress the ulnar nerve and shave the excess bone off. I can move my fingers quickly again, but they tire, and a riff I'm working on isn't going to plan and it's frustrating. But this is better than it was 12 days ago. I'm down to doing wall press, when 2 weeks ago I was trying to push my bench. But I'm not getting pins and needles or shooting electrical pain down my hand when I do them. I can still sit in a squat whilst I brush my teeth... won't be high bar. Or low bar. Or deadlifting. Or definitely not benching for a while. But hey-ho. One of the last workouts I did before induction began (the day of my doc appointment before I got the foley, at 41 weeks and 5 days), so I thought I would share this last prego workout where I am still prego 🤰. When posting workouts in the future, I will be calling out pregnancy and diastasis recti safe moves, but for now I am taking time to fully recover. Progress pics and my labor story will be shared on the blog in the next week or so! It wasn't pretty or how I had planned and my recovery may be slower, but it's forcing me to slow down and take in all of these special moments. * * * Pregnant or not, take these two moves and perform a reverse scale the ladder. Meaning, perform move 1 for 14 reps and move 2 for 2 reps. Decrease the amount of reps you are performing for move 1 by 2 each set and increase by 2 for move 2, untill you have performed move 1 for 2 reps and move 2 for 14 reps.
