I’m not reinventing the wheel yall. I got these results by joining a friend in a fitness group with other moms💪. I figured, I eat a little cleaner, learn some new recipes, & drop some ‘fluff.’ The difference in these pictures is 20 pounds. I don’t share this for accolades, but rather to inform. Yes, I lost pounds, but gained SO MUCH MORE. 🤔 I wasn’t planning a big lifestyle change, but I am so glad I joined that first group. Loosing the weight, & getting stronger are wonderful yes, but I gained new friends, accountability, motivation, in addition to new clean recipes, access to great work outs, & more! I feel stronger, & healthier. I am within a few pounds of what I weighed 13 year ago at my wedding yall! Today however, I am truly healthier. Wana know more? I just completed an 8 week program...I commited myself to following a workout schedule...I dedicated 30-40 minutes a day, 4 days a week...and here are my results! . I am ⬇️ an additional 5 lbs and ⬇️ 10 inches from all over my body! But it's not just about numbers...look at the difference! My skin has tighten up all over, there are muscles popping and I have a whole new shape! . Let me tell you about this lady right here! . . She is my inspiration right here. Back at the end of July, @lydia.harrington9 commented on one of my posts on here. Rather than just ❤ the comment I sent her a message regarding a nutrition program that takes the restrictions and calculating out of your mind. I also told her about my healthiest meal of the day. She decided to let go of the fear and said why not! . . Once she got all hooked up into the total system provided to her there was stopping her. She us down about 25 lbs and a whole lot of inches. Hey yall. I have been getting a lot of messages about how I have been eating and what type of plan I have been following. 🍇 Well the truth is I dont follow a plan. I really just have a mindset. And that consists of my making my 4 meals looks a certain way. 🍓 I didnt think about measuring. I didnt think about weight or any containers. In fact I can't do that anymore. I have learned since I am emotional eater that if I restrict myself in any way than I will set myself up to fail. 🥑 But it wasnt always like that. I was so successful doing shift shop last summer because I followed a meal plan to the tee. The programs that you can do through beachbody give you everything you need to be successful. You just have to be willing to do the work. 🥒 So no I dont follow a MEAL PLAN. I think about what I want and why I want it. As we laid my grandmother to rest today, I thought back to my childhood and spending time with her in the summer...going to the pool & movies...how she used to bring a huge bag full of snacks and drinks to keep all us kids happy. . Makes me think of my own mothers relationship with my children. She has always been here for them and I, but she's getting older, and weaker...she's not well... . She turned 70 this year...her knees and back are giving out on her from scrubbing strangers floors throughout my childhood in order to put food on the table. She's diabetic and has been on insulin for the last 15 years...she has arthritis in her joints, making it so difficult to even lift herself to the walker, so she can make it to the bathroom... . I don't want that...I don't want to be that...I want to be able to do all the things with my children and eventually my grandchildren...I want to be healthy...I want to live! . OMG, why are these words so hard to type...I'm sobbing right now... . This is why I started this journey...this is why I took control of my health...this is why I show up every single day...this is why I will continue and will never quit...I CAN'T...I HAVE to be here! . **Long post ahead*** Today was my day one back on my fitness journey. The past couple of months I have let life get in the way, be my excuse. My free nights turned into nights with friends, some date nights, or just being lazy and doing nothing. I found myself getting moody, not happy with how my clothes were fitting but mostly how my body felt. So today I jumped back on the fitness train. It's going slow but its going. Why is that? Why do we as moms or even just women, feel so insecure with our stomachs? Had a convo with the boyfriend last night about that...that the stomach is like a "no zone" for women...meaning, Do Not Touch! 🚫 . Dudes have no problem exposing their guts...big or small, hairy or hairless, abs or not...why do us women have such insecurities with it? . I've lost over 50lbs and 50" from my body so far...I am gaining muscle, tone and definition all over...stomach included, but I still have a lot of extra padding and skin...perhaps in time that will shrink, but I know that I will never have rock hard abs and a full six pack, and I am ok with that! . You've gotta have realistic expectations! I know that I am on the right path to creating a body that I love, inside and out, and that's what really matters!😍 . Day 1 vs Day 237...These results are not meant to be misleading and are not all from LIIFT4, but they are from commitment to nutrition, exercise, and having the right tools. I have struggled to get my weight off from having kids for the past 5 years. You would think as a physical therapist I would know everything there is to know about fitness and nutrition, but I didn’t. I struggled to eat the right things (binge eating and drinking on the weekends) and couldn’t figure out how to fit exercise into being a busy working mom, but I have found the solution! What a year! What a year I’ve had🙌. I had my 3rd baby last July, & knew I’d want something postpartum that would really kick start being healthy + give me energy for keeping up with my 3 kids. I started looking for some new recipes to eat a little cleaner & I found SO. MUCH. MORE. 🤜🤛 I am stronger both physically & mentally than I’ve ever been. I want to be healthy for myself. so I am sitting here reflecting on the last 5 weeks if this program. and I cant believe the changes I am seeing. only 40 minute workouts, 4 days a week. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am so excited that even though the chaos of the move from Virginia to Pennsylvania, I still made myself a priority. and the truth is I thought I would actually fall flat of my face. I figured the stress of not working, living in a tiny apartment, moving furniture every day, being without Emily, and adjusting to living with the hubby again, I seriously thought I would fail. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ but knowing I wasnt committed to a particular meal plan, I only had to take 40 minutes a day to workout for 4 days, I now see why I havent. it is simple to stick to this program. And it is very annoying because I had finally found my stride in my virtual gym and wellness side hustle. . . Anyway it could have something to do with not being able to feel or use my upper arms. Yeah could be that. . .. Rest day us tomorrow and I know I will find my mono again. I keep saying Not Today Satan. I started back at the gym a month ago. I changed gyms a week ago. I’ve been seeing little changes since week two. Last night, even my boyfriend was able to notice where I’m slimming down. Clothes are fitting more loosely, even leggings (which sucks because I JUST bought new leggings). And yet, the scale isn’t moving down. At all. My weight is being a stubborn number on the scale. So all this to say: stop focusing on the scale. Focus on how your body feels. The numbers on the weights. The burn in your muscles. The sweat pouring down your face and back. The feeling of accomplishment. Remember that “one day” can become day one so easily. I’ve had a LOT of Day Ones. I’ve struggled to find my passion in a gym filled with more treadmills than weights, more ellipticals than weight machines. I’m not designed to be a Cardio Queen. I’m designed to build muscle. And that’s okay. That’s my passion. Find yours. And notice the changes as they come. For me, that means embracing a butt that’s getting bigger and a tummy that’s getting flatter even though I’ll never be thin. #embracethechanges #dayonenotoneday
One Day is just another way of saying some day in the future. “One day I’ll start my diet.” Honestly, when we say that phrase... it probably never going happen; it’s wishful thinking. If we allow ourselves to be that person waiting on one day... We are not doing anything to make it happen. One day... is never going to get here. ~•~•~ Day One means that we have a plan in place! Day one I am working out at 6 AM before my kids wake up. Day two, I will be up at 6 AM before my kids are up and workout. Day three, I do it again. It means that you have set specific goals and laid out a plan on how to achieve them. ~•~•~ So, you can continue with wishful thinking that will never get you to what you want.
