today in my writing in social justice class, H entrusted me with her story. she was not okay, and it seemed like she hadn’t been okay for a while, but today finally broke her. juggling 18 units, domestic violence, processing a restraining order, 2 children, an on campus org, a part time job, and other daily hassles, she still managed to bring halloween snacks for our whole table group for 3 days straight and finished every single assignment. this woman is a warrior. i immediately think of my own mom who bore the burden of getting her doctorate degree, raising an angsty teen and an annoying 3 year old, and putting 110% into her part time teaching job. i can’t help but wonder how many times she broke. all i can say is that H’s children are gonna look at her and say, damn, my mom is a badass and then proceed to cry out of gratitude😭 H, today you were elated because our professor approved your thesis for a paper, but you have so much more to be proud of. stay amazing queen. #crying #lordhavemercyonhersoul #badasswomen #humansofdavis
