I hate it when people say that anyone can make it in construction, especially demolition. Truth be told, demolition is a dangerous sport.. sometimes I wonder why demo guys aren’t paid higher for the work they do. Despite injuries that can occur from using the sledgehammer and saw, death is always a possibility when you’re bringing down a building or dealing with reinforced concrete as shown above. That’s why when projects entail dealing with rebar, the crew must proactively respond with more caution.
A slight miscommunication between labourers inside and operators outside waiting to rip the building apart can result in a fatal accident. Labourers and operators who walk through “the danger zone” aimlessly are bound to get hurt, hurt someone else or end up in coffin.
At MGI Demolition, safety is a priority. NO EXCEPTIONS. If something poses a risk, you bet your ass @mgicorp
will make sure the safety risk is dealt with before any personnel is allowed in the vacinity. I can speak high and mighty about wanting to work in demolitions, but the thing is... I’m scared shitless to work in demos. Maybe it’ll be good though...it’ll teach me to be more responsible, cautious and pay more attention to detail. I still have to say after knowing the dangers, demolitions are my favourite part of the construction industry... will that change?? Only the summer will tell.
