Super rough cuts made for these table parts so they can settle a bit and then a closer cut off a template and flush cut off a jig to final size on the Curatorial table.

Humuhumunukunukuapua’a is the name of this fine fish. Or just humuhumu for short ☺️ it gets it’s name from the sound it makes and it’s snout like features- translated it means ‘fish that snorts like a pig’. It is also the official state fish of Hawaii. Commissioned for a spear fishing friend who is leaving the island soon. Drawn in pencil here, but if interested please do look this colorful fish up to see it in all its beautiful glory. ✨
Now I know Instagram has a way of making everything look so easy. But a lot of hard work goes on for many hours on these complicated jewellery pieces. This was by far the most challenging job I have ever done. Using 18ct gold, they took hours and hours of work. Literally sweat, blood and tears went into these earrings, every joint was made formed, soldered and cleaned one by one and by hand. But I think they were worth it and I am very proud of them and luckily my client loved them!! The Opals were my mined by her husband- so they are very special indeed. www.erannaylorjewellery.com
