A lot of my friends I’ve made in powerlifting know me now as a clean, sober Quinn, but for a long time I struggled with drugs. It all started with cigarettes but it rapidly developed to coke and pills and even when I was off harder drugs, I always had cigarettes in some form to get me through. Even after quitting smoking, I transferred my addiction from cigarettes to alcohol pretty heavily over last summer as a coping mechanism for a rather dark part of my life; but even then, I haven’t drunk irresponsibly in over six months.
Addiction is a beast that once you have it, you can’t escape it—you can only subdue it as temptations and urges get you even two years into being clean. As well as powerlifting has worked, there are a lot of times where I struggle with cravings and even have found myself unhealthily addicted to powerlifting from time to time to no avail.
It’s been a hard two years and it really a struggle not to relapse on cigarettes or anything harder but I know in the back of my mind that I’m making the right decision. Two years down, many MANY more to go.

Sometimes the relationships that change us the most are the quietest
My wife had bought me this gift set several months ago and meant it as a Christmas gift but forgot she had it and gave it to me today. Better late than never and I'm very ok with this set 👍
