Captain America a name most synonymous with Steve Rogers. The man to first put on the suit and wield the shield, but he was not the only one. Captain America was no longer just a hero but an icon, a symbol of freedom and justice.
Once again the mantle of Captain America was being given to the original himself Steve Rogers. A man who would never stop his fight as long as he had life left in his body. A veteran of World War II and leader of the original Avengers, he had the respect of most.
Having been Commander Rogers for the past few years, it was strange to put the suit back on once again. Standing in the bathroom at Brooklyn City Hall, he looked at himself in the suit once again. His mask pulled down off his face so he could take a good look at the man he was.
His blue eyes still shinning with the same hope and love of the dream that they always had. He couldn't help but shake his head and chuckle at himself before lifting his shield from the sink in front of him.
❝Its been a long time old friend. This is a day I knew would come but It still feels strange. To be Captain America once again.❞
He would say to himself before there was a knock on the bathroom door.
❝Mr. Rogers sir, the press is ready and waiting for you. I hope you have your speech ready.❞
The voice of a male would say from the other side of the door making Cap nod.
❝Of course, give me about one more minute and I'll be out.❞
❝Of course sir.❞
The man would state before walking off leaving Rogers alone to his own thoughts once again. Placing his shield on his back, he would turn on the sink and splash his face with water. Turning the sink off, he would look at himself one last time.
Pulling his mask over his head, he would flash a large smile to himself before leaving the bathroom. Walking down the halls of city hall, he watched as he was saluted by any who he passed.
Keeping the smile on his face, he would salute everyone back before making it to the podium in front of city hall. He would take a look over at the crowd that gathered to watch and ask him questions. His eyes overlooking the many reporters, cameras and fans in attendance.
