Carrot Hummus, Lavash Crackers
Making hummus with anything other than Chickpeas is pretty much unheard of where I’m from. An explorative cook, my mom made carrot hummus every now and then. And I sometimes brought it with me to school where it was ridiculed by the other kids for being a weird lunch to eat. This dish is a nod to my Mom’s creativity and a big 🖕🏽to those kids in school!

I promise I don’t only eat/make sweets!! Shakshuka is one of my fave foods EVER!
Add a drizzle of olive oil to chopped onion, minced garlic, and chopped green pepper to your @lodgecastiron
Season with cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, and cayenne
Saute until fragrant and pour 14oz diced tomatoes
Crack some eggs on top and simmer until eggs are cooked through
Top with goat cheese and green onions!
I got home today to my roommates, parents, and dog sitting in the living room waiting for me. 1. Grab a lightly colored medium-sized skillet or pan. A black pan, like cast iron, will disguise the color of the butter. White or silver, like a stainless steel pan, is better. Place cold or room-temperature butter in the pan. Set to medium heat. Watch it melt. Don’t leave it.
2.Wait until you hear the butter crackle and pop (a little like that cereal with the elves).That’s the water coming out of the butter. Foam may appear as the butterfat releases the milk solids. Once the popping and snapping abates, the milk solids are forming. They’ll turn into light-brown little specks on the bottom of the pan. Use a heat-proof (metal or wood) spoon or spatula to stir the browning milk solids so they brown slowly and uniformly.
3. Remove the pan from the heat once you see the milk solids at the bottom of the pan turn golden-brown. The butter will continue to cook off the heat, so pour the butter from the hot pan into a heat-safe dish. Once that butter has turned golden, your butter is … golden. You can strain out the sediment at the bottom of the butter if you want. Now go forth and use your beautiful, fragrant, nutty browned butter in a recipe.

WONDERFUL!! It's Angus Beef with Khao Chee: Crispy Rice Omelet Cakes. So... I know they change up the menu trying to keep us excited but if they have this, GET THIS!! You will NOT be disappointed. It's comfort food & who doesn't love steak and eggs! The beef is tender and the cakes crispy. The sauce adds some tang to the savory beef. I would have this again and again! Definitely check them out and bring some friends so you can order a bunch of stuff like I did. 😁
