Oh my #deer
! Feeling nostalgic for the Asia trip of last fall. When we arrived in the Imperial Summer Palace (避暑山庄) in Chengde City, it was a bright sunny day with a clear sky. We enjoyed the weather for several hours. Suddenly, in no time the sky changed, as there was a wind blowing strongly, and it started to rain. Almost everybody left the park. We stayed, as it didn't seem dangerous. Took the pic of this deer under an umbrella as my cam isn't waterproof 😌. It was such a pleasure observing it wandering around together with his companions. They could move freely inside the park or at least the enclosure was so well hidden that we didn't see it! 😆

Putuo Zongzheng Temple, Chengde
Build between 1767-1771 it is, at 2,400,000 sq ft, one of the largest temples in all of China and by far the largest at Chengde.
A fusion of Tibetan and Chinese styles its design closely mimics that of the Potala Palace in Lhasa.
Built to honour the Qianlong Emperor’s 60th birthday and the 80th birthday of his mother it also functioned as a less formal meeting place for foreign dignitaries and representatives of the Emperors subjects.
It was nearby Putuo Zongzheng that the Qianlong Emperor met with the first British Diplomatic mission.
