We are working our way through the Charterstone campaign with some new friends that are rapidly becoming good friends over shared dinners and gaming. Today was game 5 and I won for the first time, which was AWESOME. Here are the thoughts of our play group 5 games in :
Jenni- loving this game as much as I thought I would. @jameystegmaier
is a god.
Chris- I think it's a well structured worker placement game with a decent amount of unknowns and variability. Very enjoyable!
Meagan- Where is the strong narrative? I keep waiting for the crate openings to play into an intergral woven storyline and it doesn't seem to really be coming together. It should be coming together by 5 games in. I like the mechanics though.
John- I don't hate it. But I am not having as much fun as I was in the beginning (editor's note - John won the first 2 games). #boardgames #boardgamesofinstagram #gamergirl #boardgamereview #legacyboardgames #stonemeiergames #charterstoneboardgame
Finally playing #charterstone
!!! Got some wonderfully named charters 😂
Welcome to The Free World! 🌎 Played games 3 + 4 of Charterstone the other day, and things are picking up. Something new introduced in both games, including one that made us all go, "Wooooaaaaaahhh!" and got us excited for game 5! And yet, it's all still kind of more of the same. I've won 3 out of the 4 games we've played, and while I know what I did to win, I still couldn't tell you what the point is. Winning doesn't feel exciting, in fact it's starting to annoy me because I don't get the extra thing everyone else does. 😡 Ah well, 8 more games to go!
We finally started our Charterstone campaign! I'm playing purple, of course. We struggled through our first game - what it promises is teaching you as you play, but what you get is reading all of the rules out to the group as you go, and none of my group likes to learn a game that way. It was a total slog, and the one thing that was not explained through it all was what the point is. Do you want reputation, are you supposed to complete objectives, or the guidepost, or quotas, or focus on crates and building? We just started playing and exploring what there was to do, but other than the scratch off ticket-like addictiveness of opening crates we're not sure what the game expects of us. So far we enjoy the game and the cuteness of the artwork, but aren't blown away. I hope more is revealed soon, because it was a lackluster start for us.
Played the first two games of Charterstone last night, Mason the Mason went to work. This is the first legacy game I've played and I enjoyed it a lot! I wasn't sure how I'd feel about placing the stickers and writing on the components, but it was fun. Really looking forward to next game!

The chronicle has been completed (although we still haven't found rule 9) and the recharge pack has arrived! Grünwald took the win 1084-947.
Last night we came to a few important realizations on the rules. INFURIATING!!! For those of that have played/are playing. What rules did you mess up on? (We were on game 8 before we realized these key issues). There's no way we were the only ones that messed up on some rules...
We had an amazing weekend of gaming! It included starting our campaign of Charterstone. We are already ready to buy the recharge pack!
Played through 4 rounds of #legacy #workerplacement #boardgame #charterstoneboardgame
Technically won the third and fourth round but only because some one did the equivalent of the bad ending of round 3 and we didn't score based off our buildings. Enjoying it so far.
Started a new tabletop game tonight! It is called Charterstone and I highly recommend it!
This game is a legacy type set in a village. You gain and spend resources to rack up points and unlock game aspects, all while you develop the village. The initial game with set up took close to 2 hours, but a lot of that was in the understanding and finding our own strategies. I anticipate future games to have a much quicker game play.
I am excited to see how each round develops as new rules, goals, and other aspects come into play. Plus, we will get to spend more time hanging out with family. I can’t wait to play again next Sunday!! #tronfamilyadventures
