are beaten & forced to carry tourists in #Petra

is always possible. We can make this world kinder for all beings. Thank you to everyone who has voiced their outrage over these images over the years as your voices have been heard.
The ancient lost city of Petra was carved into rose red stone thousands of years ago and is stunningly beautiful. A #NewWonderOfTheWorld
. Slave animals ruin that beauty though so it’s great that somebody is doing something about it.
Whenever you travel anywhere, please don’t fund animal exploitation. Stop and see the world from the animal’s point of view. Little donkeys don’t want to carry you up 800 steps in the heat. That’s torture for them and they suffer unimaginably. Walk instead.
As per my previous posts about #AmerFort
, slave #Elephants
don’t want to carry you uphill in the heat. They suffer. Walk instead or take one of jeeps up as that’s what they’re there for. As long as humans stop providing the demand, we can stop the supply and send those elephants to sanctuaries.
It’s cruel to force animals to carry us when we can either walk or take vehicles instead. I understand that in these countries, using animals as a form of transport and a source of income has been done for centuries but that doesn’t make it right. We need to educate people. Unlike these poor abused animals, we have a choice in this world. Let’s make kind choices. Lets liberate animals. Let’s fix this broken world 🌱 .
