Day 3 of bootcamp at @waterfordfbbc I can’t believe I’ve made it 3 days in a row and 2 of them at 5 am no less! I am already feeling more energetic, my mind is clearer and I feel stronger. Does my body ache? Absolutely! As it should. I’m already looking forward to day 4! 🚃 We’re camping this weekend so I will miss bootcamp Friday and Saturday, but will be hitting the trails at the campground to keep my body conditioned. I don’t want to fall of the rails too far. My intention is to workout at least 5 days a week. There are other accountability measures as a part of this challenge as well. Like keeping a food journal and hydrating. There is also a meal plan. This has forced me to pay more attention to what I am eating and how much water I am consuming (hydration is something I have always struggled with even as an NTP). Even those of us who are trained still need to pay attention and keep track. I am sticking to my normal way of eating since I know it is what works best for me. I eat Paleoish most of the time. I don’t do well with refined carbs at all, my body craves complex carbs, fat 🥑 and protein. I recently cut coffee for six weeks. I knew I was drinking far too much. I only recently re-introduced it although not near the quantity I was consuming it before. I don’t need coffee but I sure do enjoy it! I started bodybuilding 2 years ago at the age of 46, basically just to see if I could get my sort of “average fit-mom” body into stage-ready shape.👙I love a good challenge, and apparently Coach @cherishfit does too, because she took me on, bless her!🙏🏼2 years & 2 comps later, I have a bit of hardware to show for our efforts (I say “our” because without CoachLady’s great programming,this transformation wouldn’t have happened.) I just want to say for anybody out there considering doing their yoga teacher training - DO IT!! 👍🏻💯 I woke up on cloud nine this morning after another practice class with my friends last night and I could just see how much they loved it, how good they felt after and how much they learnt. My heart was BURSTING!! 🤗 I almost let my fear stop me from taking the course. I kept telling myself I wasn’t flexible enough, wasn’t good enough, wasn’t confident enough. Who would want me to teach them? I see so clearly now how ridiculous these stories were and how much I was limiting myself. Yes I’m not super flexible, yes I’m still growing in my own practice, and yes I feel vulnerable. But that’s real life. That’s all part of who I am and what will make me a great teacher for the people who need someone like me to show them it’s possible. 🙏🏻🧘🏼‍♀️ And trust me, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing your students shine! So please go for it! Does anyone else share these fears? ☀️✨

I'm pretty embarrassed with what I'm about to share and have been avoiding it all together 🙈 Last weekend I went out for my husband's birthday and got so drunk I walked into a door frame. I banged my head so hard I gave myself a mild concussion 🤦🏻‍♀️ I haven't shared this because I fear how you would think of me as a health coach. Also being open and vulnerable on social media is scary AF. I leaned into my mentor last night for support and she reminded me that I’m human and we all make silly mistakes and I’m allowed to have time to heal. Support really is everything 💖✨ . I'm re-evaluating my approach back to optimal health. I'm going to be dialing the next couple weeks on my nutrition, staying away from alcohol, focusing on my mobility and coordination through movement medicine. On the 23rd of this month I’m making the commitment to myself to get back on track. I will be hosting a free group on starting off on the right foot and easing into health to keep me accountable. Me and my girls will be dedicating to one week of simple step by step meal plans, streamable 30 minute at home workouts, daily superfood shakes and a shit ton of support. Left side I was around 145lbs Right side I am currently sitting at 128.6lbs It’s crazy how much 15-17 pounds can make such a difference 👊🏻 It doesn’t seem like a lot but the amount of sweat and the amount of calories I’ve had to drop to get to this point was and still is insanely difficult My weight has still been fluctuating and I’m currently at a plateau The goal from the very beginning was to give this leaning phase my absolute best and to hit 125lbs I’m so. so. close I want to prove not to just myself but to you all that has been with me since day 1 that any goal can be accomplished 🙏🏻 This plateau will be surpassed soon enough, I promise I’ll give you guys my best 👊🏻 Let’s do this! STORY TIME ______ Mannnn... let me tell you what went down at the gym today!! Another upper body session today with @chelsealynnmiller. Jumped it off with dumbbell bench and moved onto shoulders. I had hit 10 reps with the 95s on Saturday so I decided to challenge myself and go for the 100s. ——— My personal best at this weight was 8 reps and this was two years ago, this was my first time touching this weight on shoulders in probably over a year. Chelsea told me she wouldn’t allow me to stop unless I hit at least 7 reps. So I put the dumbbells up...5 reps and they give out. I’m discouraged at this point but not giving up. ______ I try another attempt...this time...I couldn’t even get the weights in position for one rep! _____ F*CK!! _____ I was ready to call it quits...but you know the third time is a charm. Chelsea would not let me give in. She told me to rest while she did her last set (30 lbs for 22 easy reps, just toying with them like they were nothing looking bored as hell 😱) and then to give it one last try. _______ I put on some Future with some heavy bass got myself hyped up, threw the weights up and managed a shaky 7 reps! Do not ever underestimate the value of a good training partner. I feel especially good about this because my personal best is only one rep higher and that was completely fresh! Been kinda MIA for a bit. I strained my back a few weeks ago (just slightly), it was a noticeable ache or some pinching here and there but I was an athlete, I trained myself to work through those things. So I put it in the back of my mind. Slowly with every workout, since I don’t know how to take it easy, the ache turned into more of a burning and a more noticeable pinching😫. Yet still continued to push through it, but I was also getting nervous because it was definitely getting worse. I decided to ask one of the Drs where I worked and he very bluntly said stop being bull headed, you need to rest and let it get better or it’s going to be a chronic issue. So I took some mentally painful time off but it paid off. It didn’t feel 100% today but I’m going to make sure I ease into it and LISTEN TO MY BODY! . . I did lift a lot of back today but went lighter and really concentrated on my form and how it felt with every rep! . .
