Today was awesome! I was getting hungry looking at all the food pics on insta and almost ate a snack but decided why not go for a walk? A 35 minute walk was just what I needed! I saw this gorgeous view (I added the rainbow 😉) and got home and wasn’t hungry anymore and drank 16oz Of water instead! Win-win-win! 🙌🏻 next time I feel a craving I think I will literally go take a hike. . . As for my 4 goals, I stayed under my caloric goal, flew past my steps goal and met my 30 min exercise goal! The only goal I didn’t meet was sleep, but as a mom i may hit my sleep goal once a year. WEEKEND WEIGHT GAIN:⁣⁣ ⁣ -⁣ ⁣⁣ So after a weekend of good food (lots of it), alcohol and no exercise, you weigh yourself tomorrow morning and your weights gone up about 6lbs, but have you ACTUALLY gained 6lbs?⁣ ⁣ No, you haven’t⁣⁣ ⁣ -⁣ ⁣⁣ Everyone goes into meltdown when the scales go up, and after a weekend of indulging it’s pretty impossible for them not to for a number of reasons;⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Primarily you’re retaining water. That bloat you feel in your stomach, them love handles you feel like you’ve grown overnight, that’s water, you’ve probably been consuming a lot of carbs and not been hydrating yourself, get a few litres of water down you and get back to your normal routine and it will vanish after a few days⁣ ⁣ -⁣ ⁣⁣ To gain a singular pound of FAT you need to consume 3500 calories over your maintenance⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Therefore to gain 6lbs of fat you’d have to consume 21,000 calories OVER your maintenance, and no matter how hard you think you binged this weekend, that would be some achievement ⁣ It’s entirely likely you haven’t even gained a single pound of fat, especially if you’ve been in a deficit all week⁣ ⁣ -⁣ ⁣⁣ Don’t go excessively reduce your calorie intake this week to make up for it, don’t do hours of cardio, simply get back to your normal routine and drink some fucking water 💦⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Will indulging every weekend stunt your progress? Absolutely. But will one weekend every blue moon set you back months of hard work? Reason #183748261 why I track calories.... so I can eat a giant pretzel 🥨 & drink Oktoberfest 🍺 • Since I knew I wanted my pretzel and beer yesterday I added cardio in the morning which gave me 400 extra calories for the day to play with and I kept my breakfast and lunch light so that I wouldn’t go over my caloric goal for the day.
