One of the biggest things I have struggled with is trying to please everyone around me.
Having lived in 4 countries throughout my life, I can tell you how appealing it is to constantly try to fit in and follow the norm. I mean, it is definitely the easier route. However, I realized that doing this was a threat to my identity and was actually encouraging me to be shy and reserved. 🤦♀️ I think it’s normal to want to be liked because no one intentionally wants to burn bridges or cause unnecessary problems. But the funny thing is that it‘s not until I actually began embracing myself and openly expressing how I felt that I began creating meaningful relationships with people and attracting those who are like me. Because when we have the courage to get real, amazing things happen. 🌻
Authenticity involves a certain amount of courage from our part. This involves the willingness to be vulnerable and let other people know who we are and how we are feeling. I’m not going to lie, this can be quite scary.
But it is only when you are truly sincere and genuine that you can touch the people around you and create real connections. Because authenticity is the underlying force that drives respect, honesty and trust. 💫
I am strong believer in the energy we exert to the world and people who are authentic radiate an energy that is super vibrant, real and care-free. Be you because it perpetuates an environment where everyone can feel this way and it is freaking awesome. 🤟🏽 And as my good friend @tayorockson
says “Use your difference to make a difference.“ 😎
