From very early in our debt free journey, I felt an urge to share what we were doing. I’ve never felt ashamed of our journey, the sacrifices we’ve made, or the future we’re working towards and really have just wanted to shout it from the rooftops! This is why I started @babystepping2freedom
because I wanted to talk about our journey towards financial freedom all day every day and knew it was too much for my personal accounts. When I created this page, I welcomed people from my real life, who cared to know about what we were doing, to follow our journey. My goal, along with just talking about our successes and failures, was to use my one small voice to reduce the stigma of living life on a budget and encourage people to NOT keep up with the Jones’s... because they’re broke!
Today I received the most amazing card and gift from my high school friend, @sewingstateofmine
, that reminded me why I’m here. I’ll never be embarrassed or ashamed to share our story and I’ve never once regretted openly posting about our journey. I’m so happy to know that the shenanigans I post here have actually made a difference in someone’s life. If you’ve ever considered going public with your journey, DO IT! Spreading the good word of budget living and working towards a life of financial freedom might just reach people you would never expect.
So thank you, Erica! I love your handmade bags (you should definitely follow her and check out her amazing stuff), but your note was really my favorite part! These sacrifices are hard but they are WORTH IT, in more ways than you would ever imagine!
