“How do I explain to the parents? Should I do this? Not every kid will respond well, but it’s important to go through this and experience the making process. Ahhh just gonna try!” Many times I emphasize how process of art making is key and really beautiful. The kids examine how to make a brush, explore the ways to hold and used. “Is this a similar marking as this piece?” “No Miss Ly, it’s different directions, look closely!” Instead of pushing them to experiment in ways I do, today I learnt to step back more and see it from their point of view. 👀
