As I browsed through my photo gallery this morning to see what was happening a year ago I came across the two smaller pictures.
Yep, out of work, sitting at home, with a 3 way fracture of my ankle and leg. A tri malleolar fracture to be exact. This would be followed up by surgery, a plate, and 12 screws to put me back together.
It literally took me a full year to recover from this. To this day my ankle is not the same and and probably never will be. But see that JUMP?!?!? I couldn’t do that even after I completed months of physical therapy!
Old mindset: Stairs=find me an elevator 🎢Running=you must be joking right? 🏃🏻♀️ Jumping= Lets just take one step at a time! 👣
Today’s mindset: I can conquer ALL the stairs, I can run again with my dogs and play with them, and I will jump as high as humanly possible! And the biggest news.....I signed up for the Savage Race Blitz in February! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Without this new mindset, this group, this new lifestyle of fitness and nutrition, I know I wouldn’t have made it this far. What’s stopping you? 🤔
Between being sick 😷 and broken ankle it's been over a month since I've been able to do a decent workout ☹️☹️...and I'm feeling it. Ankle isn't healed but the effects of not moving more are having it's toll in form of body aches, headaches and nausea. 🤢
I'm trying to get back to doing something so today it was @beachbody @liift4
(just upper body) and when he transitioned to the cardio I changed it to Release the Tension yoga.
Any suggestions on what I can do are appreciated ❤❤ #yoga #yogachallengeofadifferentkind #brokenankle
Cast is coming off today and aircast boot going on! Stitches or staples coming out too though 🤮🤮 but it’s Tuesday and another new jumpsuit so let’s do this! Also started the day with a non weight bearing glute burner 😁 #ootd #selfie #happy #jumpsuit #fashion #workwear #brokenankle
I’m waiting to go into my surgery tomorrow morning for my broken leg and ankle. I'm really not public about a lot of things I go through.
I mostly like posting positive thoughts and exciting achievements. Keeping all the negative to myself to figure it out on my own. Which is one achievement that I'm happy with that I can navigate through these series of amazing and unfortunate events! Because I really don't wanna worry the people that care about me. I don't like seeing the worry in their faces.
About a three years ago I went through another accident where I almost lost my life and my heart stopped in the hospital from ink poisoning from my tattoo. My face and body weren't the same for a while. The reason for this quick recap! Is that I didn't tell anyone what happened! Only my mothers and a few other friends knew.
When someone else found out for the first time or saw the condition I was in. The thing I would always hear is, ”why didn't you call me?” I grew up never hearing this concern for my well being till I got older.
Now that I'm blessed with an amazing family, friends and so many communities!
Here it goes! I'm down for the moment with a broken leg and ankle from a sports injury, I'm living in a new location where I've met some amazing people that where there when I literally broke and picked me up! My awesome friends @hannahgr04
& Kate Morton & my brother @rav3nlunatic
have been taking turns taking care of me. I should be able to walk again in 6-12 weeks!

Sorry I haven’t posted much. My mom broke her ankle at work on Thursday and life’s been a whirl wind ever sense! She has to wear this big clunky boot and use these sticks to walk around. She also has to meet with her surgeon on the 21st to decide if she’s going to have to redo the surgery she had on it in 2014 to fix her ligament issues. Until then it’s lotsssssss of snuggles and kisses!
Totally me. 🙅🏽♀️ people. 😍 animals.
I’ve walked 80+ miles over the past week but I’ve seen some really cool shit along the way so my busted ass ankle is worth it ✨
🙌🏻 So in love 🥰 I have recently started swimming to help with my ankle recovery and discovered a new use for my favourite eco friendly make up wipes!! After making the mistake of not removing my make up the first time and coming out with mascara everywhere I now carry a pack of them to remove it all before I get in the pool #winning #compostable #makeupwipes
Today, I drove for the first time in 72 days. Yes, 7️⃣2️⃣ Days! To say I was a little excited is an understatement. 🚗
Here’s to being independent again and life returning to normal. Well... somewhat normal, the Dr did laugh at me when I asked when I could start running again 🏃🏼♀️ #roadtorecovery #brokentalus #brokenankle #nomorecrutches #6moreweeksofPT
🐶 .you’re my best friend. 💕
post from yesterday’s 1st post #brokenankle
10K. About mile 4, it hurt, but I was determined to finish and I did, with a respectable time🎉🎉. My total miles traveled for the day was 7.9, which means that I didn’t really do much more than this race yesterday 😬😂. 2018 has been a roller coaster of a year, but a whole lot of growth has happened and 2019 is looking bright😍😍 #teamsparkle #262to5K #262to10K #wdwmarathonweekend
Ok, I’m hurting bad in this new #cast
