Relax. Eat cake. Have some tea. Talk to friends. These seem simple but would take a ton of energy for me to pull off, at least in the past week. But I did, thanks to those who were willing to genuinely listen and put themselves in my shoes. I'm not going to pretend that I can sort things out on my own. "There is strength in needing others, not weakness," says Dr. Rosshilde in "@burnt_movie " (2015).
Bitterness is only going to chip away whatever good is left in me (I only chose to be *really* good because I met someone who is worth it, and it was great. Or so I thought.) There are a lot of things to look forward to, things that are bigger than myself. Like what I was last told (and this is quite ego-busting), "Not everything is about you!"
So here's to #movingforward , charging ahead. There's no use getting strung up ... well, that tea and the cakes tasted really good. Oh, and ain't those pots pretty? 😉
Confession: I don’t like drinking tea. I don’t drink tea made from tea leaves anyway but even herbal tea just isn’t my thing. It tastes like weeds to me. I do like a simple infusion with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices, and sometimes a bit of fresh ginger if I have it, but anything with dried leaves? Not so much. This trip, though, I’ve discovered red berry tea/infusion made with dried berries and I love it. In fact, I love it so much I searched shop after shop looking for a jar to bring home and finally found some! Despite not caring for most tea, I love the lunches I’ve had this trip where I’ve ordered afternoon tea. It’s so charming and such a nice pick-me-up in the middle of the day. Somehow a pot of tea is the perfect accompaniment for the scones and little sandwiches. How do you feel about tea? My friend @kara.aina.art and I have concluded that in general some people like tea (her) and other people prefer something with a little more body like hot chocolate (me). Are you in one of these camps or somewhere else entirely?
Got to finally meet @philatbrew from @brewteaco in person this week in Manchester! We serve his tea at the British High Commission in Ottawa, here's a throwback picture from the British Prime Minister's visit to Canada around this time last year. ☕☕☕ .
Home sweet home! Sad to not watch the sunsets but I think my liver will appreciate it 😂 instead of a sunset I got a sunrise from above, whilst drinking water rather than pina colada, somewhere in the world 😍 #HomeSweetHome#BritishTea#LiverForSale
