The funny thing about deadlifts is that you do a deadlift by simply picking a weight up off the floor. Everyone should know how to do it!
But... it’s not!
Those are 3 commons mistakes:
1️⃣ butt down: a butt down position is not correct because it does not engage the posterior chain (hamstrings and glutes) for lifting (in engaged more your quads). Your knees should be slightly bent;
2️⃣ ankle degree: this is a direct consequence of the first mistake; the angle of the foot while in a deep squat position is generally < 90 degrees, unless you use Olympic weightlifting shoes;
3️⃣ back position: a neutral spine is ideal. A rounded or hyperextended position can place undue stress on your back.

This assisted kick back with smith machine (with an extra focus on keeping my back from NOT arching) is my cup of tea because I love to focus on unilateral type of training, especially when it comes to my BOOTAYYYY. Or maybe it's because I love anything and everything to do with the booty?! 😂 .
OK but in all seriousness.. I have a HUGE difference between my right and left side on my body (just my structure) and as much as I respect my imbalance and not try to over perfect it, I love to ensure I am targeting each leg/arm individually to their fullest potential when I'm training rather then cheating with one side etc. .
Whether you have any imbalances in your body or not, training one leg/arm at a time can help you with posture/core/hip weaknesses, so adding a few exercises like such can benefit you. .
If you're just starting out your work out journey, don't rush to do the exercise of the month, even something simple like bicep curls (1 done at a time instead of a barbell) will be a great way to start focusing on your right/left strengths.

surprise! videos of me actually doing things in the gym lmao. got in a good leggie workout the other night since i got my blood drawn and was scared af to use my arms 😂 here’s what i did / what i failed to film —
1️⃣ 6 x 10 hip thrusts (didn’t film)
2️⃣ 3 x 10 smith machine narrow stance squats (didn’t film again lol)
3️⃣ 3 x 10 single leg hip abduction
4️⃣ 3 x 10 KB side lunges (repeat on other side)
5️⃣ 3 x 10 KB deadlifts
6️⃣ 3 x 8 curtsy lunges (repeat on other side)
