Today we went swimming in a volcano 🌋 @hanaumabay was just beautiful, the photos do not so it justice. The water was so warm (warmer than everywhere else) and we all had a great time there. The boys have become quite the little bench bums, they are loving it... They don’t want to go 🏡 home We went back to seven brothers for lunch and had a bit of an explore around the island, which took us through Kaneohe bay... I miss staying there it’s such a peaceful/calm place, Waikiki is good too, we are right in the thick of things here. It’s so busy but we can pretty much walk to nearly all places we want to go (mainly the beach). Swipe right for crap quality unfiltered selfies 😌 *LONG READ AHEAD!* [BODY NEGATIVITY]  I just want to come on here to let you know that if you are struggling with body image, that you aren't alone. I havent been able to look at myself happily all week and I have been picking everything apart. I dont even want to write what I'm insecure about because it's just so raw right now. This has impacted my mood and my effectiveness with a healthy lifestyle greatly this week and all I can really say is that sometimes it gets the best of us. Theres nothing to be ashamed about if it does, either. It doesnt matter how much weight you lose, or even if you end up getting any  wanted cosmetic surgeries, if you don't try and love yourself at your lowest points or at your worst, your best will only be good enough for a short time period if at all. It's so easy to look at ourselves and to put down the things that we dont like or the things that are different then what's glorified at the current social media moment, and its so easy to say the most hateful things to ourself. It's not a problem for every one, but it is for most. Why? Why is it so hard to say "you are enough." Or, "I like ____ about me."? Are we really benefitting from comparing, criticizing, and belittling what we dont like about ourselves? 20 years from now our current problems and the issues we have with our bodies will be most likely gone and it's possible new different ones will arise. So this easily can be a lifelong cycle. I dont know about you, but I really dont want to be in my 60s critisizing the way I am or how I look when there is so much more to life. I want to be free from that and I want to be thankful for my body because it is my shelter and it is my strength. It's such a struggle and it's so incredibly hard to learn to love the "flaws" about yourself but its absolutely vital to a happier life. I have judged myself so harshly from a very young age. Around 10 years old cellulite had started showing up in the back of my thighs while I was a fit, average weight kid and I was heartbroken and full of self hate for this reason. (Rest in comments♡)

Down 43lbs from my highest weight. I know there's not physically a big difference in these photos - but mentally I'm a different person. I'm more focused on healing my mind and body from what it's been put through for 28 years. I'm more focused on a happy and healthy future. These are things that I never put thought into. I’m @mikerobertbauer and this is my beginning; so back in 2012 I was golfing with friends and I went into cardiac arrest and with the help of my friends and a emt they saved my life until paramedics came. I was paddled back to life and air lifted to a hospital in Peoria. I was in a medically induced coma for 3 days. I woke up not remembering anything and had to be told everything. The doctors warned my family and my girlfriend that I may never be the same. I got released and went to cardiologists in Chicago. I went under surgery and they were able to recreate what happened to me and found out I had Wolffe-Parkinson-White syndrome. It's an extra electrical pathway in my heart. They ablated the pathway and I'm lucky to be alive. That girlfriend turned into my wife and her son is my son and we also have a 2yr old boy as well. I was lucky enough to be given an extra chance at life and I want live long enough to see my children grow up. What have you done in the past? Every type of "diet" out there. A couple of reflections on this Thursday, the 13th day of school. I love 5th graders, but sometimes teaching is HARD! Especially at the beginning of the year before we get our groove. One of the hardest parts is when they’re unkind to each other. It hurts my heart. . Sometimes a glass of wine just helps, even if you’re trying to eat well. For me I can’t feel too deprived or else I’ll do worse overall. I’m learning better habits and have learned what works best for me. That’s an awesome part of the program - they want you to spend time on personal development and taking care of yourself! . Life is always busy. I hear it from everyone and it looks different in everyone’s lives, but we make time for what is important to us. I’m still struggling to find the time management that works best with all I have going on, but I’m prioritizing what I value and learning to say no to some things. I went a bit over my carbs today. I like to keep it around 30 and I think I hit 38 grams today. Whoops! I remember I was not so sure about this virtual online bootcamp thing...I was so used to going to the gym to get my workout on...it's funny when you get used to something how you can sometimes be blinded by everything else. It got to a point where I finally REALIAZED how much I was paying for my gym membership, personal trainer, bootcamp classes and group classes! $600 a month WHAT? I couldn't afford that! Right then is when someone came into my life and invited me into her bootcamp...yes, I was a little nervous and reluctant but at 2% of what I was paying for the entire YEAR, what did I have to lose. It turns out I had a lot to lose......some pounds, my negative mindset, my lack of motivation and my gym anxiety! I got into the best shape, I was positive about working out and eating healthy and I felt comfortable in my own home doing all of this! Now I am paying it forward! Fasted cardio and @workoutlabs warm up and workout today! I fasted for 18.5 hours and broke my fast with homemade paleo granola, Greek yogurt, and soaked chia seeds. I still have dinner and a post dinner walk but I’m feeling great today. The long answer is that I divorced 2 years ago (after a 30 year marriage) and am now back in school to hopefully pursue a PhD in genetics. This sounds a little philosophical, but going to school is my way of taking control and accomplishing what I want in life. let’s talk a little bit about self-efficacy. ⁣ ⁣ self-efficacy is essentially the way you perceive your ability to be able to achieve your goals. ⁣ ⁣ without a healthy, postive sense of self-efficacy you most likely won’t be able to achieve goals that you try to set in motion. ⁣ it’s very similar to self-esteem, which we all know can be a struggle sometimes. ⁣ ⁣ any time that i hear someone say that they can’t lose weight, claim their health, eat properly, whatever, i get so heartbroken because i remember being in that place. ⁣ i encourage you to find out the reason why you feel like you can’t achieve your goals. sure, it’s hard and there are a million excuses that persuade you into thinking you can’t, but you can. you’re capable of so much more than you think, and i really want you all to know that you should work towards the life you want. ⁣ ⁣ for me, i felt stuck in my life. i was at a school i hated, there were friendships/relationships that were putting me under a lot of stress, i had no desire to improve. but one day, things just clicked and i remember looking at my mom and being like “i can change! like i am capable of so much, why haven’t i ever noticed this before?” ⁣ i wish i wouldn’t have wasted so much time saying things were impossible for me, but i’m continually grateful that i realized it eventually. ⁣ ⁣ i dont know if this message is even relevant to any of you but i just want to stress that i believe in every single one of you. you are capable, you are strong, and i want to see you succeed. 💖
It’s so easy to look at other people’s success and say to yourself “that could never be me” or “I could never do that” or “they won’t pick me” or “I could never be 15 star diamond”. When we say those things to ourselves , when we tell ourselves we can or we can’t , we’re right! Whatever you believe is what you become. . . : : : If you set a goal that you already know you can achieve, that’s not a goal, that’s your to-do list. Your goal should be scary! It should scare you so much that you’ll do whatever it takes to get there. When I took my National physical therapy exam, it scared the hell out of me, 7 years of the hardest work, lots of sweat and many many tears, everything resting on this one test. Bahh. But I did it and I passed bc I had no choice! That’s how you should treat your goals, like this is it! Tuesday was an eye opener!! I couldn't belive how much I could enjoy every meal, feel like I was "cheating", and still end the day with 5 points to spare! - 7 sp Breakfast: Crustless Spinach, Onion, and Feta Quiche from @skinnypoints website came out to 2 sp for 1/6 of the pan with my ingredients in the recipe builder. Needs a lot of seasoning that's not mentioned in the recipe next time, but still a good dish! Also had 1 butterball turkey sausage patty (1sp), grapes (0sp), and Sara Lee 45 cal toast (1sp) with 1/4 avocado (3sp). - 7 sp Lunch: Delicious egg salad from @theskinnyishdish ! Mine came out to only 1 sp for 108 g (1/6 of the batch I think. I'm super ocd about measurements 😂) With 2 slices of toast (2sp), a bunch of steamed broccoli, 16g of veggie crisps (2 sp) and 2 tablespoons of the delicious Tarragon Chicken Salad from Publix (2sp) - Dinner was the best! Mom makes this amazing salmon with caramelized onions and capers. Its pretty simple but I added the balsamic, olive oil, and pinch of sugar just to be safe (3sp). Had 6 oz of Oprah's brand of mashed potatoes (6sp) with 1/4 C Kraft fat free cheddar and a bunch more broccoli! (9sp total) - Aaand not pictured is 5 points worth of oreo fluff. 3 full delicious meals plus desert and under points! And the truth is that somebody’s going to love you just the way you are, and it’s not going to matter that there are prettier, skinnier or smarter people. Ever since I was little I have been struggling with my weight. The girls my age were always skinnier than me and I could never wear the things that they wore. Nowadays I’m not even near my goal but I’m feeling way better in my own skin than in school. Some people used to make fun of me and called me names and stuff but I’m fucking over it.
